Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the broad idea that visitor numbers rose and that satisfaction was higher after the refurbishment, so the response is relevant to the task. However, the report is very incomplete: it gives no clear overview of the survey’s main changes and omits most categories and figures. The visitor total after refurbishment is reported as 94,000, whereas the chart shows 92,000; the before figure of 74,000 is correct. The statement that more people were satisfied or very satisfied is broadly accurate, but it needs supporting figures and a comparison with dissatisfaction, which fell substantially. At 62 words, the response is also well below the required 150 words, leaving the task addressed only minimally. Include an overview and select key data from both charts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to focus on the period after refurbishment, and the response mentions visitor numbers and satisfaction. However, the ideas are not arranged into a clear report: the opening fragment, “After refurbishment,” does not introduce a complete paragraph, and the following sentences move between satisfaction and visitor totals without a logical sequence. The phrase “before the renovation” appears inside a sentence about the later period, making the comparison difficult to follow. There are no clear paragraph divisions or linking expressions to guide the reader through the table and survey results. Organise the response into an introduction, an overview, and a short comparison of the key figures, using simple links such as “By contrast” and “Meanwhile.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses a small set of relevant terms, including “visitors,” “satisfied,” “satisfaction level,” and “renovation,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and some word combinations are unnatural or unclear, such as “the total number visitors are increase” and “very satisfied visitors satisfaction level is very great.” “Reporting” is also not the most natural choice for describing survey responses. Use precise chart language and vary the terms for the two measures, for example, “visitor numbers,” “respondents,” and “satisfaction ratings.” The phrase “visitors are increased” should be replaced with a natural expression such as “visitor numbers increased.” These improvements would make the limited vocabulary more accurate and easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to communicate several comparisons using simple clauses, but grammatical control is weak and sentence structures are very limited. Errors occur in basic patterns, including “the total number visitors are increase,” “the museum was renovate,” and “the visitors are increased.” These involve missing or incorrect verb forms and agreement, and they make the intended meaning less clear. The sentence beginning “More people reporting” is also incomplete as written. Punctuation and sentence boundaries need attention: the final section runs several ideas together, while “After refurbishment” is only a fragment. Practise accurate simple past forms such as “increased” and “was renovated,” and build complete sentences before attempting longer comparisons.
