Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover the main features and report the figures accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction increased, dissatisfaction fell, and the no-response share stayed at 5%. The overview identifies the broad upward trend in visitors and positive ratings, while the body gives useful comparisons across both periods. This meets the task well, with some features more fully reported than others: the overview’s phrase “Other results shared various percentage” is unclear and does not clearly summarise the fall in dissatisfaction. Also, “only 15%” is inaccurate for the pre-refurbishment satisfied category, which was 30%; 15% were very satisfied. Clarifying this distinction and making the overview more precise would strengthen the response further.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs covering visitor totals and survey results. Comparisons are generally easy to follow, particularly the paired figures for satisfaction and dissatisfaction. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The overview’s “Other results shared various percentage” does not explain which results changed, and the transition “regarding to number of visitors” is awkwardly formed. The survey details are grouped logically, but the paragraph could guide the reader more clearly by moving from positive ratings to negative ratings and then the unchanged response category. Use clearer linking phrases and ensure each overview statement connects directly to the figures that follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” “decline,” and “remain unchanged,” which helps describe the data. However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors reduce precision and naturalness: “the figure of visitors,” “the finding of surveys,” “rebuilt,” “visist,” “vistors,” and “porportion.” “Other results shared various percentage” is also difficult to interpret. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main comparisons, but they limit the accuracy and flexibility of the vocabulary. Aim for standard chart-reporting expressions such as “number of visitors,” “survey results,” and “the proportion of visitors,” and proofread carefully for spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex forms, including the overview sentence beginning “Overall” and the comparison sentence using “from … to … respectively.” Most of the intended meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “it can be seen the total number” needs a clause marker (“that”), while “only 15% of visitors satisfied” is missing the verb “were.” In “remain unchanged of 5%,” the verb form and sentence construction are inaccurate; write “remained unchanged at 5%.” There are also inconsistent sentence openings and punctuation, such as the lower-case “regarding” after a full stop. More accurate clauses and consistent past-tense reporting would improve control.
