Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report the main direction of change accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction improved, with the dissatisfied share falling from 40% to 15%. You also include the key survey categories for both years. However, the overview is brief and does not clearly summarise the strongest contrast: satisfied or very satisfied visitors became the majority after refurbishment, while dissatisfaction had dominated before it. Some details are also imprecise; for example, “satisfaction level rose” would be clearer if supported by the combined positive figures, and the visitor totals are not compared directly. A more complete overview and explicit comparisons between the two periods would make the response more fully address the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to the figures for each period. “On the other hand” also signals the shift to the post-refurbishment results. However, progression is limited because the two years are mostly described separately rather than compared directly, and some links between ideas are awkward or unclear. For instance, “Major segment contains the amount of visitors who were dissatisfied” does not connect smoothly to the following figures. Paragraphing is present, but the overview is very short and the body paragraphs rely on repeated sentence openings such as “the number” and “5%.” Grouping positive and negative responses across both years would create clearer comparisons and a more coherent flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing the charts, including “refurbishment,” “satisfaction,” “decreased,” and “segment.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural. Examples include “amount of visitors” instead of a suitable expression for countable people, “very pleased” for a survey category, and “did not response.” Spelling errors such as “Musem,” “suveys,” and “disatisfaction” are also noticeable. Aim to use the chart’s category labels consistently and learn common Task 1 combinations such as “the proportion of visitors” and “visitor numbers increased.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the reader can generally follow the main comparisons. However, grammatical errors are frequent, and some longer constructions are difficult to process. For example, “the result of of suveys that how much they were satisfied” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “the number of very dissatisfied people were minor” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Articles, sentence boundaries, and punctuation also need attention: several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops, and spacing around punctuation is inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, such as “The proportion of dissatisfied visitors fell to 15%,” before adding more complex clauses.
