Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given tabel shows the number of visitors to Ashdown Museum during the year before and the year after it was refurbished and the chart show the result of surveys asking visitors how much they were satisfied after and before the refurbished.
The table shows the number of visitors who comes to visit Ashdown Museum before the formation, which was actually 74,000. By following the chart, the number of visitors increased from 74,000 to 92,000 after the renovation of the Museum. The survey told us the visitors satisfication which are these , the high ratio of disatisfication among visitors before the renvation was 40 in compare to after renovate this ratio decreased to just 15 and on the other hand the satisfication level is increased from the ratio 10 to 40 after this change in formation . In comparing the both survey the ratio of very satisfied visitors also increased from 15 to 35 and the main thing which to be noted that both graph shows the same ratio of no response visitors which is 5.
The comparison between these two survey graphs is high ratio of 40 between disatisfied and
satisfied carry same ratio, but in the second survey shows also a big difference in very satisfied region which arises to ratio 35.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main increase in visitor numbers, from 74,000 to 92,000, and report several important survey changes accurately: dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, very satisfied responses rose from 15% to 35%, and no response remained at 5%. However, the account does not give a clear, concise overview of the overall pattern, and some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. In particular, you say satisfaction rose “from the ratio 10 to 40,” although the satisfied category increased from 30% to 40%; 10% was the very dissatisfied figure before refurbishment. The final comparison also confuses the categories by saying dissatisfied and satisfied had the same ratio, when they did not. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of all categories would strengthen coverage.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has separate paragraphs and uses linking expressions such as “on the other hand” and “in comparing,” so there is an attempt to connect the information. However, the ideas do not progress in a clear order: the opening repeats the task, the second paragraph combines visitor totals with several survey figures, and the final paragraph repeats and muddles comparisons already made. Some links are difficult to follow, particularly “the comparison between these two survey graphs is high ratio of 40 between disatisfied and satisfied carry same ratio.” Organise the response into a brief overview followed by a paragraph on visitor numbers and one on survey results. Use clear references to the categories and avoid repeating points; this would make the information easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “increased,” “decreased,” “ratio,” and “survey,” and the reader can generally identify the topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the meaning unclear, such as “formation” for refurbishment, “satisfication,” and “the high ratio of disatisfication.” Spelling errors such as “renvation” and “disatisfied” are also noticeable. “Ratio” is repeatedly used where “percentage” or “proportion” is more suitable for survey results. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and vary the vocabulary for describing changes. For example, “the proportion of dissatisfied visitors fell” is clearer and more appropriate than “the ratio of disatisfication decreased.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt longer sentences and use some comparative structures, for example, “the number of visitors increased from 74,000 to 92,000.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. Examples include “the chart show,” “the number of visitors who comes,” and “the visitors satisfication which are these.” The sentence beginning “The comparison between these two survey graphs” lacks a clear grammatical structure, making its meaning hard to recover. Use shorter, complete sentences when presenting figures, and check subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries. For instance: “Visitor numbers rose from 74,000 before refurbishment to 92,000 afterwards.”
