Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the main elements by reporting visitor totals and comparing satisfaction before and after refurbishment. The figures you give are generally accurate, including the rise from 74,000 to 92,000 and the key 40% dissatisfaction and satisfaction results. Your overview notes the increase in attendance, but “both pie chart shows same highest proportion for different sections” is unclear and does not accurately summarise the overall shift: satisfaction rose markedly, while dissatisfaction fell. The after-refurbishment account also omits the 15% dissatisfied group, an important result, and the before-refurbishment figures could be compared more directly with the later results. A clearer overview and fuller coverage of the main changes would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two periods. This makes the information broadly easy to follow, and sequencing the figures by year is a sensible approach. However, the overview sentence about the “same highest proportion for different sections” is difficult to interpret, weakening the progression between the introduction and details. Within the body, repeated wording such as “shown in pie chart” and “proportion in pie chart” makes the account mechanical. The final paragraph lists the after-refurbishment figures but does not connect them clearly to the earlier results. Use clearer comparisons and linking phrases, and group related satisfaction categories to create a more coherent account.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “total number of visitors,” “refurbishment,” “proportion,” and “dissatisfaction,” so the topic is clear. However, the range and control are limited by repeated phrases and several inaccurate or unnatural choices. “Visitors satisaction” contains a spelling error, while “different proportion of varities” is unclear and does not describe the chart accurately. Phrases such as “40% proportion in pie chart shows dissatisfaction” and “records high as 92,000” are awkward collocations. Aim for concise chart-reporting language, such as “accounted for,” “rose to,” and “the share of dissatisfied visitors,” while checking spelling and avoiding repeated references to the pie chart.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the comparisons and figures. However, errors in agreement, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “both pie chart shows” should use a plural noun and verb, while “the total number of visitors … have increased” requires singular agreement. The construction “74,000, whom which 40% proportion…” is not grammatically formed; a clearer pattern would be “Of the visitors, 40% were dissatisfied.” Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent in phrases such as “satisfied to Museum.” Work on accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns, then proofread each sentence for articles and prepositions.
