Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main overall changes: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction improved after refurbishment, and dissatisfaction declined. These are relevant features and the figures for attendance are accurate. However, the survey is described only in broad terms, so important comparisons are missing: for example, the satisfied share rose from 30% to 40%, while the very satisfied share increased from 15% to 35%; dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%, and very dissatisfied responses from 10% to 5%. The claim that satisfied customers were “constant” is inaccurate. Your overview is also vague, particularly “The museum going well.” Include the key percentages and state the overall pattern more precisely to develop the report more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about visitor numbers, a paragraph on survey results, and a concluding statement. This gives the reader a coherent overall arrangement, and phrases such as “On the other side” signal a contrast. However, the progression within the survey paragraph is not always clear: “high satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “Deeply disappointed patrons” are discussed without specific figures, and the final conclusion largely repeats the earlier point about increased attendance. Some linking phrases feel mechanical or imprecise, and the capitalisation of “The” after commas is inconsistent. Group the positive and negative satisfaction results clearly, using comparisons to guide the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary, including “substantial,” “proportion,” “dissatisfaction,” and “renovation,” and the general meaning is usually understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing this visual data. “Amount of visitors” should refer to a count of people, while “guests were visiting museum” and “museum going well” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Deeply disappointed patrons” is an unnecessarily elaborate substitute for the chart category “very dissatisfied,” and “redesigned and organizing” does not accurately describe refurbishment. Repeated references to “before” and “later years” also limit precision. Use standard chart-reporting terms such as “number of visitors,” “share,” and “satisfaction ratings,” and retain the categories’ meanings accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentence forms, including “Although just satisfied customers were constant in both charts,” but control is limited and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include the faulty construction “There is a substantial amount of guests were visiting,” the missing article in “visiting museum,” and the agreement error in “The pie charts compares.” The sentence “There were a large number of customers are coming” combines incompatible verb structures, while “The museum going well” lacks a finite verb. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in “In conclusion, The…”. Build accuracy first with clear subject–verb sentences, then add controlled comparisons using clauses such as “whereas” and “while.”
