Student answer (Band 5.5)

The table depicts that how many people visited the Ashdown Museum before and after the refurbishment, While the chart illustrates the consequences of surveys that how much persons were satisfied with their visit during the same two periods.

One of the significant change is that more individuals visited the Museum after the renovation. And more tourists was fully agree with the condition of Museum in the recent visit.

Above table shows that viewers of Ashdown Museum was 74,000 in previous visit, which was less than that who view the Museum recently which was probably 92,000. In first pie chart we see that out of huge number of persons only 15% are fully satisfied with the condition of the Museum, just few of them are moderately accepted it, in contrast most of the folks were diagree with this location which was perhaps 40%. However, response of almost 10% of people reached to a great extent of disagreement. Some were also there who gave no remarks which was just 5%.

In second pie chart, after cleanliness, the rate of satisfaction was observed a substantial increase upto 35% while people who were slightly happy was declined to 5 % as compared to previous condition. On the other hand proportion of disappointment was plunge to 15%. Furthermore, 5% of viewers showed that they were highly disliked that place. But individuals who did not give any response remains same in both time of periods.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your main comparison—that attendance rose after refurbishment while satisfaction improved—is relevant. The figures for attendance and most survey categories are reported accurately: for example, visitors increased from 74,000 to 92,000, and dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%. However, the overview is brief and does not clearly summarise the full shift from predominantly dissatisfied responses to predominantly satisfied ones. There is also a significant misreading: after refurbishment, the 5% figure is for very dissatisfied visitors, not people who were “slightly happy”; the satisfied share rose to 40%, rather than declining. Develop the overview and check each category against the chart to make the comparisons more complete and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a short overview, and separate paragraphs for the two periods. This helps the reader follow the broad comparison, and linking phrases such as “However” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to connect details. At times, though, the progression is mechanical or unclear. The overview sentence beginning “One of the significant change” combines two points without explaining their relationship, while “after cleanliness” does not clearly connect to the survey data. Some references, such as “previous visit” and “recently,” are less precise than naming the year before and after refurbishment. Organise the body around the main changes across both periods, and use clear comparisons rather than listing each chart in isolation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a varied range of vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “substantial increase,” “proportion,” and “disappointment,” and the general topic remains understandable. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing survey results. “Fully agree with the condition” does not mean very satisfied, and “folks,” “viewers,” and “location” are imprecise or too informal here. There are also spelling and word-choice problems, including “diagree” and “plunge” used in an unsuitable form. Prefer standard chart language such as “visitors,” “respondents,” “satisfaction,” and “fell.” More precise collocations would make your comparisons clearer and more appropriately academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which,” “while,” and “who,” so there is some structural variety. However, errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries, and verb forms occur across the response. Examples include “One of the significant change,” “more tourists was,” and “viewers … was 74,000”; these should use plural or singular forms consistently. The opening sentence also has an awkward “depicts that how many” construction, and the capital letter after “refurbishment” creates an incorrect sentence boundary. Some long sentences combine several ideas and become difficult to control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build comparisons in shorter, well-punctuated sentences before adding subordinate clauses.
