Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main visitor totals accurately (74,000 before and 92,000 after) and identify the broad shift from dissatisfaction towards satisfaction. Several survey figures are also correct, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35%, and the unchanged 5% giving no response. However, the overview is unclear (“the most difference”) and the statement that visitors “don’t satisfy rather than the after” is difficult to interpret. You also omit the after-refurbishment satisfied figure of 40% and do not clearly summarise that the combined satisfied share rose while dissatisfaction fell. The response is 9 words below the required minimum. Develop a clear overview and report the key comparisons more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: you begin with the visitor totals, then discuss satisfaction categories, and use a new paragraph for the overview and details. The comparisons are generally presented in a before-and-after order, which helps the reader follow the data. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear because the overview is placed after the opening and is hard to understand. Linking words such as “than,” “on other hand,” and “at last” are sometimes inaccurate or repetitive, and several comparisons run together without clear sentence boundaries. Grouping the positive responses together, then the negative responses, with a concise overview first would create a clearer progression and make the relationships between figures easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, visitors “expand” to 92,000 and dissatisfaction is “compressed” to 15%; these verbs do not naturally describe changes in figures. “The map” is also an inaccurate label for the visuals, and “development” is too vague for the changes shown. Aim for precise reporting verbs and standard chart language, such as “increased,” “fell,” “accounted for,” and “the table and charts.” Check spelling and spacing as well, including “noo” and “74000and.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and comparisons, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “The map provide,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, and “the visitors expand to 92000,” where the verb form does not fit the sentence. Articles and sentence construction are also problematic in “Overall the underwent substantial development,” while “Before refurbishment visitor are very satisfied” has errors in article use, number, and tense. Punctuation is inconsistent: several sentences are joined directly, as in “92000.But,” and there is no space after some full stops. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build clear comparison sentences before attempting more complex structures.
