Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main subject and report several relevant figures, including visitor numbers rising from 74,000 to 92,000, very satisfied responses increasing from 15% to 35%, and dissatisfied responses falling from 40% to 15%. However, the response has no clear overview that summarises the overall improvement in satisfaction alongside the increase in attendance. Some details are inaccurate or unclear: you say “only one percent” was unchanged, although the no-response figure remained at 5%, and the very dissatisfied share fell from 10% to 5%, not by one percentage point. The account also omits the satisfied category. The response is 12 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can select and explain the key features. Add a concise overview and check every comparison against the chart.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response includes information about both the survey results and visitor totals, and words such as “moreover” and “also” show an attempt to connect points. However, it is presented as one long, loosely connected paragraph, with no clear overview or progression from the main trends to supporting details. Several links are awkward or repetitive, particularly “moreover” and “on the other way,” so the relationships between comparisons are not always clear. References such as “the first pie ghar” and “the percent” also make it harder to follow which period or category is meant. Organise the report into a brief introduction, an overview, and a paragraph comparing the figures; use clear references such as “before refurbishment” and “after refurbishment.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “satisfied,” and “dissatisfied,” and you attempt to describe change with “increase” and “reduce.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the report difficult to read, for example “pie gharph,” “enchance,” “pig graph,” and “asddown.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “the percent were enhance” and “individuals were very satisfied.” Use accurate chart language and collocations, such as “the proportion of visitors who were very satisfied rose” and “visitor numbers increased.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise terms for percentages and categories would make your meaning clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to combine comparisons in longer sentences, for example by linking the before-and-after figures with “moreover” and “the amount of visitors before refurbishment was 74,000.” However, the response relies on a narrow range of sentence patterns, and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships difficult to understand. Examples include “the percent were enchance,” “the percent were reduce,” and “the amount were increases,” where verb forms and agreement are faulty. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “the year before of refurbishment in first graph.” Practise accurate simple comparison structures first, such as “Visitor numbers increased from 74,000 to 92,000,” then add a few correctly formed complex sentences. Check subject–verb agreement and past-tense forms.
