Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction results, and the figures you report match the chart: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell and satisfaction increased. Your overview identifies these main shifts and notes that non-response stayed at 5%. However, the overview’s wording that dissatisfaction was “overtook by very satisfied and satisfied” is unclear, and the comparison could be expressed more precisely. The response is also 12 words below the 150-word minimum, which limits how fully you can develop the key features. To strengthen the report, clarify the overall comparison and add a little more detail about the scale of the changes without listing every figure.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the visitor total and survey results. This makes the information easy to locate, and transitions such as “In contrast” help signal the change from dissatisfaction to satisfaction. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, with repeated paragraph openings such as “Regarding the table data” and “Regarding the pie chart.” Some links are also awkward: “After refurbishment, visitors dissatisfaction has been overtook…” makes the relationship between the two periods difficult to follow. Use more natural comparisons to connect the figures, and ensure each paragraph develops one clear point. The organisation is coherent overall, but cohesion and referencing are not consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “refurbishment,” “dissatisfied,” and “remained unchanged,” so the reader can understand the main comparisons. There is also some variety in how you describe change, such as “increased” and “dropped.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “the proportion of the satisfaction asked in the survey,” “increased rapidly,” and “visitors dissatisfaction has been overtook.” The spelling error “refurbishmnet” also affects accuracy. Choose standard chart-reporting phrases such as “levels of visitor satisfaction” and “the number rose,” and check spelling and word forms. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they make the vocabulary less precise and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause in “before increasing to 40% and 35% after refurbishment.” Most of the data remains understandable, but some grammatical errors make relationships unclear. For example, “while it increased rapidly after refurbishment, it accounted for 92000” joins the comparison awkwardly; “visitors dissatisfaction has been overtook” has an incorrect verb form; and “the proportion … were” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “It dropped after refurbishment, accounted for 15% and 5%” also needs a clearer grammatical link between the change and the figures. Practise accurate past-tense comparisons and sentence structures for reporting paired values, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
