Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You cover both the visitor totals and the survey results, and your overview identifies the two main trends: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while satisfaction improved after refurbishment. The survey figures are also reported accurately, including the unchanged 5% with no response. This gives the response a relevant and generally clear account of the visuals. However, the survey values are described as numbers of “people” or “tourists,” although they are percentages, which makes the units unclear. The final comparison also repeats the figures rather than drawing out the key shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction. To strengthen the report, state the percentages explicitly and highlight that the combined satisfied categories rose from 45% to 75%, while dissatisfaction fell from 50% to 20%.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph of supporting details. The overview helps the reader understand the main message before the figures are presented, and phrases such as “Overall” and “By contrast” signal relationships between ideas. However, the final paragraph is crowded: it gives both sets of survey figures in one long sequence, then adds an interpretation at the end. The contrast is also slightly confusing because “By contrast” introduces the earlier-year figures after the later-year results, without clearly naming the period at the start. Use separate, clearly signposted comparisons for the two years, and group satisfied responses together before dissatisfied responses. This would make the progression easier to follow and reduce the mechanical feel of the linking.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of vocabulary for describing change, including “became more popular,” “more satisfied,” and “renovation.” The meaning is generally clear, and you attempt alternatives such as “restoration,” “makeover,” and “remodeling.” However, some choices are imprecise or too informal for an academic report: “tourists explored” and “makeover” do not fit the chart as naturally as “visitors” and “refurbishment.” “Statistics of surveys” is also an awkward collocation, and “people” obscures that the survey results are percentages. Aim for precise, consistent terms rather than varying the wording for its own sake. For example, use “visitor numbers,” “survey results,” and “the proportion of respondents” throughout.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the overview beginning “Overall, it can be seen…” and the final clause “indicating that renovation…”. Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors reduce accuracy. In “40 are satisfied,15 visitors,” a space is missing after the comma, and the long final sentence is difficult to control. The phrase “after remodeling indicating” also needs clearer punctuation or a separate sentence. There are article and agreement problems in “renovation of museum enhance,” which would be better as “the renovation of the museum enhanced.” Check articles, verb tense, and sentence boundaries when editing, and divide the list of survey results into shorter, more controlled sentences.
