Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main increase in attendance, from 74,000 before refurbishment to 92,000 afterwards, and report the rise in satisfied visitors and fall in dissatisfied visitors accurately. You also note that the no-response share stayed at 5%. However, the overview is incomplete: it does not clearly summarise the overall shift from mostly dissatisfied responses before the work to mostly satisfied responses afterwards, and the very satisfied and very dissatisfied categories are not reported. The response is also below the required 150 words, so there is limited space to select and explain the key comparisons. To strengthen coverage, include the full satisfaction pattern and make the overall change explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, an overview, and then figures about attendance and satisfaction. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited, and the transition “coming to satisfaction of visitors” is awkward rather than a clear link between points. The overview ends with an unfinished comparison, while the final paragraph repeats the unchanged no-response point. Some sentence boundaries are also unclear, for example, “40 %. while the individuals…” should be joined or punctuated as a complete sentence. Use distinct paragraphs for the overview and detailed comparisons, and connect the categories in a more deliberate order.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary such as “proportion,” “satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” and “decline,” which helps communicate the main trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, including “char” for “chart,” “propotion,” and “dissatisfied experiences.” “The number of visitors who had no response” is also imprecise because the chart reports a percentage of survey respondents, not a visitor count. Repeated use of “visitors” and “number” makes the account less precise. Aim for accurate collocations and distinguish attendance figures from survey percentages; this will make the description clearer and more appropriate to an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response relies mainly on short, simple statements, with little variety in sentence structure. Several grammatical errors recur and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “number of visitors were higher” has a subject–verb agreement problem and needs an article (“the number”); “remained same” also needs an article. The sentence beginning “while the individuals…” is not properly attached to the preceding clause, and “Total number of visitors… was 74,000 and increased” has an unclear subject for “increased.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including the lower-case sentence opening “coming.” Practise complete comparisons with clear subjects and clauses, then check articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries.
