Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover the main elements of the task and include the visitor totals, 74,000 and 92,000, as well as several satisfaction figures. Your overview also identifies the broad rise in attendance and improvement in satisfaction, which gives the response a relevant overall message. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: “Before refurbishment … only satisfied” does not reflect the full range of responses, and the figures for “very satisfied” and “very dissatisfied” are confused. Very satisfied rose from 15% to 35%, whereas very dissatisfied fell from 10% to 5%. The response therefore addresses the task, but not all features are reported reliably or equally clearly. State the main contrasts accurately and distinguish the two satisfaction categories throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and further details, and it moves from visitor numbers to survey results. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. Some linking is effective, such as “Although” and “While,” but several transitions are awkward or mechanically attached: “Overall,After…” and “In Term of pie chart” interrupt the flow. The overview also combines several points without clearly separating the attendance trend from the satisfaction pattern. Use paragraph breaks consistently and group related figures—for example, positive responses together and negative responses together. Clearer referencing and more natural links between comparisons would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “declined,” “accounted for” and “dissatisfied,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, word choice and collocation are often imprecise: “after transforming the museum people visited” does not clearly express the increase in attendance, and “fell downward” is redundant. There are also spelling errors such as “maintainance,” “throught” and “proprotion,” alongside inconsistent choices such as “tourist” for museum visitors. These issues limit precision and sometimes make the meaning less immediate. Prefer standard chart language and check spelling and word forms carefully; use “visitors” consistently and describe changes directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a comparison with “Although” and clauses beginning “while,” but control is uneven. Errors in agreement and sentence construction appear in examples such as “the pie charts shows” and “numbers of visitor were lowest.” Several sentences are fragments or run together, including “Before refurbishment visitors accounted for 74,000.Although…” and “30 % people … increased to 40 %.” Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, particularly after full stops and commas. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise building complete comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check plural agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
