Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the main contrast: attendance rose after refurbishment while satisfaction improved. The figures you report for attendance and the main satisfaction categories are accurate, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35% and the fall in dissatisfied visitors from 40% to 15%. This gives the response a clear factual foundation. To make the summary more fully developed, compare the overall positive and negative responses explicitly and clarify that the 5% with no response remained unchanged. The overview also says the proportion of dissatisfied visitors was higher before refurbishment, but could more clearly state that satisfaction became the dominant pattern afterwards. Some details, such as the 10% very dissatisfied before refurbishment, are included but not integrated into a clear comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction and overview followed by information about the two periods. This makes the main progression understandable, and phrases such as “before the refurbishment” and “after the refurbishment” help orient the reader. However, the organisation is somewhat mechanical: “Firstly” and “To begin with” perform similar functions, and the second body paragraph could be linked more directly to the first through paired comparisons. Some sentences also combine several points without clear relationships, particularly the overview and the sentence beginning “Moreover, the satisfaction of visitor…”. Use one paragraph to compare the periods by category, and make references such as “remaining visitors” explicit. This would improve flow and cohesion while retaining the clear overall arrangement.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “dissatisfied,” and “refurbishment,” so the reader can follow the main information. There are also attempts to vary wording with “increased,” “improved,” and “decreased.” However, some choices are imprecise or repetitive: “tourists” is less suitable than “visitors” for museum survey data, and “the table pie chart” inaccurately names the visual. Phrases such as “remaining visitore did not take part in survey” are unclear, while “satisfaction of visitor was different” is vague. Spelling errors such as “visitore” and inconsistent capitalisation of “museum” also reduce accuracy. More precise chart language and consistent use of the task’s terminology would strengthen the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a clause beginning “which.” The meaning is generally recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships unclear. For example, “The table pie chart illustrate” has subject–verb agreement problems, and “which were increased” uses an incorrect passive form; write “the number … increased.” Articles and plurals are also inconsistent in phrases such as “to museum” and “satisfied visitor.” The sentence beginning “Whereas” is a fragment, and the final sentence lacks a clear main clause. Aim for complete sentences with accurate agreement and articles, and use a wider range of structures only when you can control them reliably.
