Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and the main comparisons are accurate: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15% and satisfaction increased. Your overview identifies the broad shift in survey results, showing that you have selected relevant features. This meets the task well, with some elements more fully reported than others. For greater completeness, make the overview more precise: before refurbishment, dissatisfaction was the largest category, but after it, “Satisfied” (40%) was the largest, narrowly ahead of “Very satisfied” (35%). Also clarify that “No response” remained unchanged at 5%, while “Very dissatisfied” fell from 10% to 5%; the overview currently groups these as the least percentages without explaining the change.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the two periods. This makes the information easy to locate, and phrases such as “In the same year” and “In addition” help connect details. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, particularly “Furthermore, year after refurbishment Satisfied had rosen…” and “however No response and very dissatisfied were least percentage.” The overview also combines several comparisons in one sentence, making the relationships harder to follow. Use clearer comparison structures, such as “By contrast” or “Meanwhile,” and ensure each sentence has an explicit subject. This would make the progression between the overview and supporting figures smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for describing the charts, including “proportion,” “increased,” “reduced,” and “soared,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision: “conculsion” is not the intended word, “the highest thoughout the year” is inaccurate for two separate annual survey results, and “had rosen” is incorrectly formed. Phrases such as “had the 40 percent” and “increased at 40 percent” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate chart language and consistent forms, for example, “accounted for 40%” and “rose to 40%.” A more controlled range of precise verbs and phrases would strengthen the report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a sentence beginning “In addition.” However, errors in sentence structure and verb forms occur often enough to make some statements awkward or unclear. For example, “during the year before refurbishment had lower number” lacks a clear grammatical subject and article, while “Satisfied had rosen” and “Very satisfied was also rise” have faulty verb forms. In “the Dissatisfied had the 40 percent,” the article and sentence construction are also problematic. Build comparisons with complete clauses, such as “The proportion who were satisfied rose to 40%,” and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and past-tense forms. More accurate control of these patterns would improve clarity.
