Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main visitor totals accurately: 74,000 before refurbishment and 92,000 afterwards. You also include all five satisfaction categories for the first period and most figures for the second, with the key shift towards greater satisfaction evident in the figures. However, the overview mainly repeats the totals rather than summarising the overall survey trend, and the final “no re” leaves the last category incomplete. The response is also below the required 150 words: the supplied count is 136, with 10 words copied from the prompt excluded. Add a concise overview stating that satisfaction improved overall, then compare the largest changes—for example, very satisfied rose from 15% to 35%, while dissatisfied fell from 40% to 15%.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic division into an introduction, an overview and two body sections, and the figures are generally presented in the same order as the chart categories. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression is limited: the overview repeats the visitor totals, while the body sections mostly list percentages without explaining the comparisons. Labels such as “BODY ONE PARPHRASE” and “BODY PHARPHRASE 2” are not useful paragraphing, and the abrupt ending at “no re” disrupts the final section. Connect related figures with clear comparison language and use conventional paragraphs rather than headings. A brief overview followed by one paragraph comparing the satisfaction results would make the information easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “visitor,” “satisfied” and “dissatisfied,” and the category labels make the data understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “amount of visitor” and “the year before.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the amout of the visitor” and “it is well as compare to the first one”; spelling errors include “amunt” and “parphrase.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build a small set of precise chart-reporting expressions, such as “the number of visitors,” “accounted for,” “rose to” and “compared with,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most of the response uses short, simple statements, and the percentages are often presented in a form the reader can understand. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening has faulty sentence construction and agreement: “the chart illustrate” should be “the charts illustrate,” while “the number of people visit” needs a relative clause or a noun phrase. Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced, as in “during two same period” and “after the refurbished of the museum.” Sentence fragments such as “very satisfied visitor is 15%” limit the range, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Practise complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and comparison structures, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
