Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You include relevant figures from both periods, including the rise in visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and several satisfaction percentages from the first survey. However, the response only partially covers the task: it ends mid-sentence at “35 are very s…”, so the after-refurbishment survey is not fully reported. The overview is also inaccurate: “increased day by day” suggests a daily trend, whereas the data compare two annual totals. A stronger overview would state that visitor numbers rose and satisfaction improved overall, with dissatisfaction falling. The response contains 142 words, below the required minimum of 150, and this contributes to the incomplete reporting. Select the main comparisons and finish the account of both charts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs beginning “To begin with” and “Moving further.” These markers help the reader recognise the intended sequence. However, progression is limited because the overview is vague and the final paragraph stops abruptly, leaving the comparison unfinished. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “the data of first pie chart” and “the data of second pie chart” are repetitive rather than helping connect the key trends. Organise the body around clear comparisons—for example, visitor totals first, then the shift from dissatisfaction to satisfaction—and use complete sentences to show how the two periods relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitor satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “survey,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning unclear. For example, “the number of people increased day by day” does not accurately describe the annual comparison, while “not response anything” is an awkward way to describe the no-response category. Spelling errors such as “incresed” and the unfinished “very s…” also reduce clarity. Use precise chart language such as “the proportion of visitors who were dissatisfied fell” and “the total number of visitors rose.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, such as “Many people gave there feedback about the museum that looks like…” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. The opening has subject–verb disagreement in “pie charts provides,” and “the number of people increased” is followed by the unclear time phrase “day by day after the year after refurbishment.” There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “the data of first pie chart was 74000.” The final sentence is incomplete. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build complete comparisons, for example: “Visitor numbers rose from 74,000 before refurbishment to 92,000 afterwards.”
