Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the subject and report several key figures, including the rise in visitors from 74,000 to 92,000 and the main satisfaction percentages. However, the response does not provide a clear overview of the overall changes: satisfaction improved after refurbishment, with satisfied or very satisfied responses increasing and dissatisfaction falling. There is also a factual error: after refurbishment, 5% were very dissatisfied, not very satisfied. The opening repeats the task wording, and the response contains 120 words, below the required 150; the 44 copied prompt words are excluded from that count. These omissions and the limited development mean the task is addressed only minimally. Add a concise overview and compare the main shifts accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response by discussing the period before refurbishment and then the period after it, which gives the reader a simple sequence to follow. However, the opening repeats the prompt and does not function as a clear introduction, while the response lacks a distinct overview paragraph. Several sentences run together or connect ideas unclearly, such as “Before the refurbished the 74000 visitors gave the feedack … or after the refurbished…” The repeated use of “where” does not clearly show the relationship between the figures. Use separate paragraphs for an overview and the two periods, and connect comparisons with precise links such as “by contrast” or “while”.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “visitors,” “surveys,” “dissatisfied,” and “response,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the report difficult to read: “the visitors … give the feedback they are satisfaction,” “the higest visitors,” and “no give the response.” Spelling errors such as “feedack,” “refurbisment,” and “representeviely” also reduce clarity. Aim for accurate, natural phrases used in chart descriptions, for example “the proportion of visitors who were dissatisfied” and “no response was recorded.” Avoid repeating “visitors” when “respondents” or “survey participants” would be more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to report figures in longer sentences, but grammatical control is weak and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “Before the refurbished the 74000 visitors gave the feedback” has an incorrect sentence pattern, and “the 40% visitor are satisfied” has problems with number agreement and sentence structure. The opening also begins “he charts,” and several clauses are joined without clear punctuation, making relationships between ideas hard to follow. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, with little accurate variety. Practise forming clear comparison sentences, such as “Before refurbishment, 40% of respondents were dissatisfied, compared with 15% afterwards.” Check articles, verb agreement, and punctuation when editing.
