Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the main elements by reporting visitor totals and survey results, and your overview identifies the rise in visitor numbers and the unchanged no-response share. Most figures are accurate, including 74,000 and 92,000 visitors and the post-refurbishment satisfaction figures. However, the overview’s claim that satisfaction rose is broad: the dissatisfied categories also need to be clearly contrasted, and before refurbishment you repeat “dissatisfied” for both 40% and 10%, rather than identifying the latter as very dissatisfied. The response is also below the required 150 words, which limits how fully you can select and explain the key comparisons. Develop the overall contrast and report each category precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, an overview, survey details, and visitor totals. This gives the reader some organisation, and linking words such as “However” and “Moreover” show attempts to connect information. However, progression is limited because the visitor totals are separated from the overview and then repeated at the end, while the survey figures are presented in a dense sentence. The transition from the overview to “Regarding the figures” does not clearly group the before-and-after comparisons, and punctuation after “response” is missing. Organise the body into clear comparisons—survey results before and after, followed by visitor totals—and use linking phrases accurately rather than relying on a short list of connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “satisfied,” “dissatisfied,” and “total number of visitors,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the report less clear, such as “vistitors,” “visiters,” “touriests,” “figuers,” and “meuseum.” “Rise ratio of satisfaction” is also an unnatural way to describe the survey pattern, and “visitors who did not response” uses the wrong form. Aim for accurate, conventional chart language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe the “proportion of satisfied visitors” and say that respondents “gave no response.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and a longer comparison using “while,” but the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently. The opening has missing articles and an incomplete phrase: “with visit” should be “with their visit.” In the overview, “number of visiters increase” lacks an article and has incorrect subject–verb agreement; “numbers … remains” also mismatches plural subject and verb. The survey sentence contains unclear clause structure, and “40 visitors were satisfied” should express a percentage, not a count. Capitalisation at the start of sentences and punctuation around “However” also need attention. Practise accurate article use, agreement, and complete comparative sentences before adding more complex structures.
