Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main positive changes: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, and satisfaction improved, with more visitors very satisfied and fewer dissatisfied. The overview also attempts to summarise the overall effect of refurbishment. However, the response is incomplete: the final sentence ends at “deacre,” leaving the change in very dissatisfied responses unreported, and the 5% with no response in each year is omitted. Some comparisons are imprecise: 18,000 is an increase of about 24%, rather than “almost more than 25 percent,” and the increase in very satisfied visitors is not clearly expressed as a percentage-point change. The response is also 23 words below the required minimum. Develop the overview and report the key figures accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing changes after refurbishment. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, the progression is limited because the final paragraph lists comparisons without a complete, balanced account of the survey results, and it ends mid-sentence. Linking is also sparse and sometimes awkward; “Also” introduces another point, but the relationships between the visitor total and satisfaction categories are not clearly organised. Group the positive satisfaction results together, then contrast them with the negative responses, and finish with the unchanged no-response figure. Complete each sentence and use clear references such as “the proportion of dissatisfied visitors” to make the comparisons easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “surveys,” “satisfied,” and “increased,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate: “amount of visitors” should be “number of visitors,” “people like updates” is too informal and vague for this report, and “dissatisfies” does not correctly describe the category. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “droped,” “deacre,” and “whi,” which reduce clarity. Aim for precise chart language such as “the proportion of respondents,” “rose,” and “fell,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. Avoid conversational interpretations and report what the figures show.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few different sentence patterns, including the overview statement and comparisons beginning “After museum was refurbished…”. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “After museum was refurbished” is missing an article, while “number if visitors increased” contains an incorrect word that disrupts the sentence. “More people feel themselves very satisfied” uses an awkward construction, and the final sentence is incomplete, so its verb and comparison cannot be understood. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, with limited accurate use of more complex structures. Practise complete comparative sentences, for example, “The number of visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000,” and proofread articles, sentence endings, and punctuation.
