Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You report the main visitor totals and all five satisfaction categories for both periods, and the figures you give match the chart. However, the response is only a partial summary: it does not clearly highlight the key overall changes, such as the rise in visitor numbers alongside the shift from mostly dissatisfied responses before refurbishment to mostly satisfied responses afterwards. The opening also describes the visuals imprecisely, and the overview mainly repeats the totals rather than synthesising the findings. The response is 102 words, below the required 150, so it is underdeveloped. Add a concise overview of the main trends, then compare the most important categories and totals in a fuller report.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, understandable order: it introduces the visuals, gives a general statement, and then reports the before- and after-refurbishment figures. Separating the two periods helps the reader follow the data. However, progression is limited, and the overview does not effectively connect the increase in visitors with the change in satisfaction. Several sentences simply list percentages, with little comparison between periods. The opening also uses a sentence fragment beginning “And pie charts,” which interrupts the flow. Organise the response into a clear introduction, an overview, and two comparison-focused detail paragraphs, using links such as “by contrast” and “while” to show relationships rather than presenting each figure separately.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “visitors,” “satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “refurbishment,” so the reader can identify the subject and most data. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the report less clear, including “dissetisfied,” “responese,” and “refurfish.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “during and after refurbished” and “people responese are very setisfied.” Use accurate forms consistently and choose standard chart-reporting expressions, for example “the year before refurbishment” and “accounted for.” A wider set of precise comparison terms would also help you describe the shift in satisfaction more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences are short and follow a simple pattern, so the basic figures are generally understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and the response contains frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “74000 people visits museum” has incorrect subject–verb agreement and missing articles, while “pie charts illustrates” has a plural subject with a singular verb. “The table shows … And pie charts illustrates” is also an awkward sentence break. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related comparisons using “while” or “whereas.” Check that plural subjects take plural verbs and include articles where needed, as in “the museum” and “the year after refurbishment.”
