Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor total and the satisfaction surveys, and the main comparisons are generally accurate: attendance rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell and satisfaction increased. Your overview identifies the higher attendance after refurbishment and the generally poor ratings beforehand. However, the overview could state the most important survey shift more clearly: the combined satisfied categories rose from 45% to 75%, while the dissatisfied categories fell from 50% to 20%. One comparison is also inaccurate: you say 40% were “less satisfied” after refurbishment, but this figure represents visitors who were satisfied; 15% were dissatisfied. The figures are mostly reported, but clearer selection and interpretation of the key trends would make the summary more complete and precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to survey details and then visitor totals. This gives the reader an overall route through the information, and linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “Furthermore” help signal progression. However, the sequence within the survey paragraph is not always easy to follow: satisfaction, no response, and dissatisfaction are presented in a way that sometimes obscures the contrast between the two years. “Whereas” is used without a fully balanced comparison, and the final visitor-total sentence feels added on rather than integrated with the overview. Grouping positive ratings together, then negative ratings, and placing attendance in the overview would create clearer progression and less mechanical cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “visitor satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “no response,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts to vary wording, such as “depicted” and “rating.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “how much numbers,” “maximum numbers of people are visit,” and “less satisfied” for the 40% who were satisfied. Spelling errors such as “vistors,” “refubishment,” and “responese” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the main information, but they limit precision and naturalness. Use standard chart-reporting phrases such as “the number of visitors,” “accounted for,” and “the proportion who were satisfied.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Whereas” and a sentence beginning “Although” is not present; most information can still be understood. However, some errors in sentence structure and verb forms make the writing less controlled. For example, “maximum numbers of people are visit” has an incorrect verb construction, while “40% of vistors were give dissatisfied rating” combines an incorrect passive form with a missing article. The opening phrase “regarding that how much numbers” also has faulty clause structure, and “before and after refurbishment with 5%” lacks a clear grammatical relationship. Aim for complete, direct sentences with consistent past-tense reporting, such as “The number of visitors increased to 92,000 after refurbishment.”
