Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You report the main visitor total accurately, rising from 74,000 to 92,000, and identify the key shift from dissatisfaction towards satisfaction after refurbishment. Most survey figures are also correct, including the unchanged 5% with no response. However, the opening does not provide a clear, concise overview of the main pattern, and the final sentence is vague rather than summarising the contrast. The description of satisfaction is also awkwardly expressed, making the comparison less clear. The response contains 147 words, so it falls three words short of the required minimum; the 10 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Add a clear overview and develop the most important comparisons more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a sequence of comparisons, and a concluding sentence. The figures are generally presented in a sensible order, and linking expressions such as “Next,” “Then,” and “However” help signal movement between categories. However, this sequence can feel mechanical, and some transitions do not express the relationship clearly; “In the other hand” is not an effective contrast marker here. The final “Overall” sentence repeats the general topic without drawing together the main trends. Grouping the positive responses together and the negative responses together would create clearer progression, while a more informative overview would strengthen the paragraphing and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “increased,” “reduced,” “declined,” and “constant,” so the reader can follow the broad trends. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, form, spelling, and collocation problems make the writing less natural. Examples include “very satisfication,” “slighty,” “visitors response,” and “huge response to visiting.” “Drastically” and “huge difference” are also imprecise or overstated for these figures. Aim for accurate chart language such as “the proportion of visitors who were satisfied” and “the number of visitors rose.” More precise vocabulary and careful proofreading would make the comparisons clearer and more appropriate to an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the main figures can usually be understood. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For example, “the number of visitors visited … is drastically increased” combines an incorrect relative construction with an unsuitable verb form; “visitors shows” and “is remain constant” also show agreement and verb-form errors. The opening runs directly into the next sentence without a space after the full stop, and several clauses are joined in ways that make their relationships unclear. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, for example, “Visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000,” before attempting longer structures.
