Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You cover the main features of both the visitor total and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview correctly identifies that attendance rose after refurbishment while satisfaction improved. The figures you report are accurate: visitors increased from 74,000 to 92,000, and dissatisfaction fell from 40% to 15%. You also include the key satisfaction categories for both periods. This gives the response a clear, relevant account of the data. To make the reporting more precise, distinguish the survey percentages from the visitor totals: the percentages describe respondents’ satisfaction, not proportions of all 74,000 or 92,000 visitors. The claim that visitors were “not interested” in responding also goes beyond the chart, which only records “No response.” Avoid repeating the overview at the end and use that space to highlight the strongest contrasts.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on the year before refurbishment, and a comparison with the year after. Linking expressions such as “Overall,” “By contrast,” and “On the other hand” help signal the relationships between the figures. The main comparisons are easy to follow, and the two periods are presented in a sensible order. However, some transitions are not quite suited to the relationship being expressed, and the final sentence largely repeats the overview rather than adding a concluding comparison. Punctuation spacing also makes a few transitions less smooth. For stronger cohesion, group related figures more tightly and use concise comparisons, for example, pairing the rise in satisfied responses with the fall in dissatisfied responses.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for describing the charts, including “refurbishment,” “satisfaction level,” “markedly decreased,” and “illustrated.” These choices communicate the main trends, and the response attempts some less common language. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural in this context, such as “irresponsive,” “not interested to give any response,” and “has been increased.” “Renewal” and “renovation” are also repeated alternatives for the same process, while “tables” does not accurately describe the mixed visuals. These choices do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Prefer standard chart-reporting collocations and use the category labels from the visual, especially “no response,” rather than interpreting respondents’ reasons.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a contrast structure beginning “Although 5% visitors…” and clauses introduced by “while.” The overall meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “has been increased” uses an unsuitable passive form for the visitor total, and “15% visitors” needs an article or a more appropriate percentage construction. There are also agreement and tense problems in “some about 5% people was” and “35% visitors has become.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with spaces before commas and no space after the full stop in “15%.Although.” Work on accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and past-tense reporting; these corrections would make your varied sentence forms more controlled.
