Student answer (Band 5.5)
The thable below shows how many people came to ashdown museum before and after of its refurbishment. Then we had charts from our surveys asking people about their visit and were they satisfied, during before and after refurbished museum.
There we had a total number of visitors from refurbishment before and after ,so before refurbished museum we have 74000 and after the refurbishment we had 92000.
The results of the survey for visitor satisfaction were higher in the year after refurbishment compared to the year before refurbishment where the people were dissatisfied in a large number . the very satisfied people increased from 15 to 35,dissapointed from 40 to 15 where as the no responce were same as 5 in before and after refurbishment .
conclusion :- the museum visitors were satisfied with the new refurbishment of it then before

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the overall increase in visitors, from 74,000 to 92,000, and report several relevant survey changes, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35% and the fall in dissatisfied visitors from 40% to 15%. However, the account is only partial: it omits the increase in satisfied visitors from 30% to 40% and the fall in very dissatisfied responses from 10% to 5%. The overview that visitors were more satisfied after refurbishment is relevant, but it would be stronger if supported by a clearer summary of the main shifts. The response is also 12 words below the required minimum, limiting the detail available to cover the key features fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has some organisation: it begins by introducing the visuals, then gives visitor totals and survey results, and ends with a conclusion. This provides a basic sequence that readers can follow. However, progression is not consistently clear, and the first paragraph repeats the task wording rather than establishing a concise overview. Linking is limited and sometimes awkward, as in “where as the no responce were same,” while the conclusion repeats the idea of increased satisfaction without adding a distinct summary. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for an overview and the main comparisons, and connect figures with clear contrasts such as “by comparison” or “while.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “total number of visitors,” “refurbishment,” and “dissatisfied,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or informal: “people came” is less suitable for reporting visitor figures, “disappointed” does not precisely describe the survey category, and “new refurbishment of it” is unnatural. Spelling errors such as “thable,” “dissapointed,” and “responce” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise chart language and check spelling carefully; terms such as “visitor numbers,” “very dissatisfied,” and “following the refurbishment” would make the report clearer and more appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most of the response relies on simple sentence patterns, and attempts to combine ideas are often difficult to control. For example, “The results of the survey for visitor satisfaction were higher … where the people were dissatisfied” joins ideas in a way that makes the relationship unclear. There are also problems with articles, prepositions, and sentence boundaries, as in “before and after of its refurbishment” and the run-on opening sentence. The final fragment, “conclusion :-”, is not an appropriate sentence opening. Practise accurate comparisons using complete clauses—for example, “Visitor numbers rose from 74,000 before refurbishment to 92,000 afterwards”—and use full stops to separate ideas.
