Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
You cover the main features accurately: visitor numbers rose from 74,000 to 92,000, satisfaction increased, dissatisfaction fell, and the no-response figure remained at 5%. The overview clearly identifies the two central trends, and you support them with relevant comparisons, including the rise in very satisfied visitors from 15% to 35% and the fall in dissatisfied visitors from 40% to 15%. The combined figure of 75% satisfied or very satisfied after refurbishment is also correctly contrasted with 45% before. This is a well-focused summary with appropriate selection of data. To make the account more precise, avoid the vague phrase “positive response” after reporting visitor numbers, since it could imply a survey result rather than increased attendance, and describe the survey categories consistently as proportions or percentages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, then details about attendance and satisfaction, followed by dissatisfaction. Linking phrases such as “overall,” “regarding,” and “conversely” help signal these stages, and the comparisons are generally easy to follow. This gives the report a coherent arrangement. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “after changes 75 percent of people were happy with their experience after the changes compared to 45 percent before refurbishment,” where “after the changes” is repeated and the comparison is crowded into one sentence. The opening also combines the chart description and trend awkwardly. Use clearer paragraphing and more varied, precise links between related figures to make progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbished,” “visitor satisfaction,” “dissatisfaction,” and “dropped noticeably,” and the reader can understand the main comparisons. However, the range and control are limited by several inaccurate or unnatural choices. “The proposition of people” is not the right expression for a share of survey respondents; “proportion” is needed. “Happy visitors” is less precise than “satisfied visitors,” while “positive response” is vague in the context of attendance figures. There are also spelling and form issues, including “ash down” for “Ashdown” and “visitor” where a plural is required. Aim for precise chart-reporting vocabulary and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt some longer comparative structures, such as “the percentage of very satisfied visitors more than doubled, rising from 15 percent to 35 percent,” and “no response stayed the same at 5 percent in both years.” These help convey relationships between figures. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence patterns as well as longer clauses. For example, “the table and pie chart shows” has subject–verb disagreement, and “before the museum was refurbished it received 74000 visitor in year” has problems with articles, number, and sentence punctuation. “The group of satisfied visitors also increased by 10 percent that it went to 40 from 30 percent” is structurally faulty. Practise accurate agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, then build complexity around those reliable forms.
