Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the visitor totals and the satisfaction surveys, and your overview identifies the broad improvement after refurbishment: visitors rose from 74,000 to 92,000, while dissatisfaction fell. You also report several key percentages accurately, including 40% dissatisfied before and 40% satisfied after. However, some details are misreported: before refurbishment, “very dissatisfied” was 10%, not 30%, and “very satisfied” was 15% while “satisfied” was 30%. The overview’s claim that dissatisfaction was highest before is sound, but saying the after-period’s “very dissatisfied and no response” were both lowest overlooks that very dissatisfied was 5% and no response was also 5%. More precise comparisons and accurate category labels would make the report more complete and clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by separate discussion of visitor numbers and survey results. This gives the reader a general route through the information. However, progression within the survey paragraph is difficult to follow, particularly where categories are listed in an unclear order and the before-period figures are mixed up. Linking phrases such as “In context of” are repeated and do not clearly show how the comparisons relate. The overview also contains several short, disconnected statements. Grouping positive and negative responses, then comparing the two years directly, would create a clearer progression. Use paragraphing and linking expressions to show contrasts rather than relying on repeated “before” and “after” openings.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “survey,” “dissatisfied,” and “percentage,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make the report less precise, such as “visitors satisfaction,” “the second high visitor satisfaction,” and “the decreasted visitors.” Spelling errors including “ashown,” “durning,” and “respone” are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Also, “high visitors” is not an appropriate way to describe a larger total, and “increased” or “decreased” should describe the figures or proportions rather than the visitors themselves. Aim for accurate collocations such as “the proportion of satisfied visitors” and “visitor numbers rose.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and some longer sentences, but control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “after refurbishmenthad increasted” lacks a clear subject and auxiliary structure, while “The charts shows” has subject–verb disagreement. The overview sentence “Before refurbishment had decline” also needs a complete clause, such as “Before refurbishment, dissatisfaction was higher.” Articles and prepositions are often missing or awkward, as in “satisfied visit” and “In context of before result.” These errors sometimes make relationships between the figures difficult to understand. Practise building complete comparative sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, tense, and punctuation. More accurate simple structures would help before adding complex clauses.
