Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the subject of the table and surveys and give a broad overview that visitor numbers rose after refurbishment and satisfaction improved. However, the response reports none of the actual figures or specific comparisons, such as the increase from 74,000 to 92,000 or the shift in satisfaction ratings. The overview is also imprecise: “most of the visitors has satisfied” does not clearly distinguish the before and after results. The response is far below the required 150 words, so the task is only minimally addressed and the key features are not adequately selected or reported. To improve, include the main figures and compare the largest changes in the survey results.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall shape: an opening sentence introduces the visuals, followed by a separate overview beginning “Overall”. This gives the reader a simple progression from topic to main impression. However, there is no further development, so the information is not organised into a complete summary, and the relationship between the visitor totals and survey results remains unclear. The opening sentence is difficult to follow because several ideas are compressed together, while punctuation around “Overall” and “while” is inconsistent. Build a clear sequence with an introduction, an overview, and short detail paragraphs comparing the two periods; use linking words only where they clarify those comparisons.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt task-related vocabulary, including “refurbishment”, “statistics”, “survey” and “upward trend”, and the reader can infer the general topic. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes make the meaning difficult to recover: “pie chers”, “tourisrs”, “visted” and “museaum”. Some expressions are also inaccurate or unnatural, such as “figures of tourists who visited to” and “reconstructed” for the museum’s refurbishment. Use precise chart language such as “visitor numbers”, “survey results” and “satisfaction ratings”. Check spelling carefully, and choose collocations that describe the data directly rather than relying on vague or unsuitable wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You produce two sentences and attempt a contrast in the overview with “while”, showing some ability to connect ideas. However, grammatical control is uneven. The first sentence is a fragment-like, overloaded construction, with unclear links between the table, charts and survey; the second has faulty agreement and tense in “most of the visitors has satisfied”. Articles and prepositions are also problematic in “with visting in museaum”, and punctuation is inconsistent, including the missing space after “Overall,” and the full stop attached to “reconstructed.and”. Aim for short, complete sentences first, then add a controlled comparison, for example: “Visitor numbers increased after refurbishment, and satisfaction ratings improved.”
