Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify the main contrast in satisfaction: dissatisfaction was highest before refurbishment, while satisfaction was more common afterwards. Several figures are also reported accurately, including visitor satisfaction rising to 40% and dissatisfaction falling to 15%. However, the response omits the table’s key visitor totals of 74,000 and 92,000, so it does not adequately cover both parts of the task. There is also a confusing error: after correctly giving 5% as very dissatisfied after refurbishment, you later say “Just five percent were dissatisfied,” although the figure for dissatisfied visitors is 15%. The response is 134 words, below the required 150; the 19 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Include both visitor totals and report each category clearly to develop a fuller summary.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall sequence: it introduces the visuals, gives a general comparison, and then describes the survey results before and after refurbishment. This helps the reader follow the broad topic. However, the information is not grouped or progressed consistently. The repeated “before” and “after” statements make the account feel like a list, and “However,” “While,” and “Whereas” are sometimes used without a clear contrast or with awkward sentence boundaries. The final comparison is especially difficult to follow because “Just five percent were dissatisfied” conflicts with the earlier figure. Organise the details into clearer before-and-after comparisons, and use linking words only where their relationship is precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “refurbishment,” “visitors,” “dissatisfied,” and “very satisfied,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “The chart depicts the surveys how satisfied were the visitors” is not a natural way to describe the visual, while “do not response” uses the wrong form. “Improvement” and “renovation” are used as alternatives to refurbishment, but repeating the same clear term would be more precise. There are also spelling errors such as “fourty.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “survey results,” “respondents gave no response,” and “the proportion of visitors,” rather than relying on repeated basic wording.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including contrasts introduced by “While” and “Whereas,” and most of the figures can still be understood. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make several sentences awkward or unclear. For example, “The presented chart depicts the surveys how satisfied were the visitors” has faulty clause structure, and “before refurbishment fourty percent visitors were dissatisfied” is missing an article or possessive construction. Sentence fragments such as “While after renovation satisfied visitors increased” also weaken accuracy. Punctuation is inconsistent, with unnecessary commas after phrases such as “It is apparently seen that.” Practise complete comparative sentences and check articles, word order, and sentence boundaries.
