Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report the main visitor totals accurately, including the increase from 74,000 to 92,000, and identify the broad shift from dissatisfaction before refurbishment to greater satisfaction afterwards. Several survey figures are also correct: before, 40% were dissatisfied and 15% very satisfied; after, 40% were satisfied and 35% very satisfied. However, there is no clear, concise overview of the most important changes, and some details are inaccurate or confusing. In particular, “Only 10 percent peoples are satisfied” misreports the pre-refurbishment figures: 10% were very dissatisfied, while 30% were satisfied. The comparison of the unchanged 5% with no response and the fall in very dissatisfied visitors is also unclear. Select and summarise the key patterns more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a broadly sensible order, discussing visitor numbers first and survey results second, and phrases such as “Before refurbishment” and “After refurbishment” help signal comparisons. However, the ideas are crowded into two long paragraphs, and the survey information does not progress clearly from one category to the next. The sentence beginning “Only 10 percent…” is especially difficult to follow because it combines several figures and categories, while “as shown in left hand chart” does not clarify the comparison. Some linking phrases, such as “as we can see below,” add little. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and details, and group the satisfaction categories consistently so readers can follow the changes.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “refurbishment,” “visitor satisfaction,” “dissatisfied,” and “survey,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “people who visit,” “peoples,” and repeated references to “the charts illustrate.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “donot,” “museumt,” and “dtssatisfied,” which reduce clarity and control. Some expressions are not natural for describing chart data, such as “same in numbers.” Aim for precise terms such as “the proportion of visitors” and “remained unchanged,” and check spelling and plural forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple structures, and the reader can usually understand the intended comparisons. However, grammatical errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. For example, “The table illustrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “The number of people who visit museum before refurbishment are 74,000” has problems with articles, tense, and agreement. Missing spaces after full stops and inconsistent sentence boundaries also affect readability. The response attempts longer sentences, but constructions such as “Only 10 percent peoples are satisfied and 15 percent visitors are very satisfied or 30 percent are only satisfied” are not controlled clearly. Practise accurate simple comparisons first, then combine them using clauses with consistent tense and agreement.
