Student answer (Band 4.5)

It is believed that in the modern era, some medical research projects are funded by private companies. From my own knowledge, research should be carried by the government due to the crucial reasons I shall detail below.

Admittedly, there is an assumption that many medical research projects are funded by private companies because of the new investors. As known that in the past years all medical skills were under the government, but when the world started to change some private companies coined their own ways of researching on medicine. For example, in my country a number of private hospitals have alot of work, and they are giving better medication to the patients which is making them famous.

In my point of view, I believe that research should be took by the state because it avoid the unnecessary death of the patients as compared to the private companies where some sick people are given harmful drugs because of lack of full knowledge. For instance, in my home town, the investigators found that the number of deaths encountered at Craig hospital because the prevention Cholera treatment which were given to the commuters were not fully mixed. Unfortunately, 60% of both the adults and children died. The government has professional medical assistants who may work according to the rules and legislations. Additionally, the government has the full although when it comes to the medical research skills, so that is why it should lead in researches.

On some point of views

s, individuals can also take part in researches to increase the number of medications. In my country those who are rich are engaging in pharmacy projects, especially in place where healthcare centres are far. This is helpful as it reduces accidents. For example, during Covid19 pandemic,

individuals used to travel a long distance to reach the hospitals or clinics. This was difficult especially to the disabled and the elderly who failed to walk by themselves. Hence, if individuals who can afford to start medical research projects

To recapitulate, though views differ, I generally think that the government should take part in research projects to protect citizens' health. However

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear preference for government-led research in the introduction and return to this view in the conclusion. The discussion of public oversight and the risks of inadequately tested treatment is relevant, and the hospital example attempts to support your argument. However, the response addresses the options unevenly: private companies are discussed mainly through their hospitals, while the paragraph on individuals shifts towards access to healthcare rather than explaining their role in research. The final paragraph is also unfinished, and the conclusion does not fully resolve the comparison among government, companies and individuals. Develop each option directly, explain how your examples prove the point, and complete the argument so the position is consistently supported.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is an identifiable introduction, body discussion and concluding section, and signposts such as “Admittedly,” “For instance” and “Additionally” show an attempt to guide the reader. However, progression is difficult to follow because the relationship between some points is unclear: the private-hospital example does not clearly explain why private companies should or should not conduct research, and the individuals paragraph moves from research to travel distance and healthcare access. The unfinished sentence beginning “Hence, if individuals…” and the incomplete final “However” leave the response without a complete ending. Paragraphing and linking are therefore not yet effective enough to create a clear overall line of argument. Keep each paragraph focused on one option and use links that show the precise connection between claim and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research projects,” “harmful drugs,” “professional medical assistants” and “rules and legislations,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “research should be took by the state,” “the government has the full although,” and “prevention Cholera treatment.” “Alot” is also an inaccurate spelling, and “researches” is repeatedly used where “research” would be more natural as an uncountable noun. Aim for precise, conventional expressions for funding, oversight and clinical testing. For example, use “conduct research,” “regulatory oversight” and “preventive cholera treatment,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional construction beginning “if individuals.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “As known that in the past years,” “research should be took,” and “it avoid the unnecessary death”; these show problems with clause construction, passive verb forms and subject–verb agreement. The sentence about deaths at Craig Hospital is also incomplete or poorly connected, while the final conditional and conclusion are unfinished. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check verb forms and agreement before adding extra clauses. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to understand.
