Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this modren era, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In my opinion, I think that for research the funding should be carried by private companies or individuals not by the government.
On the one hand, if medical researches are funded by an individual or private companies, it is a good opportunity for that private sector for growing rapidly and if an individual gives a finantial support for the research then that person have a good opportunity to develope a certified funding company. For example, companies who give fundings for medical reseraches, the company can make profit from that research and that company can grow more efficently. Many studies have shown that the companies who give funding for research are more likly to grow better than other companies.
Similarly, the companies that give fundings for medical research, these companies can develope more funuding companies and these companies can support government to grow properly, the taxes that these companies pay annually can support their country for falling down to crises. For example, if a ccompany generates a good annual budget and by paying taxes to the goverment, the country can bring more researchers to their country and this will boost the economy of their company and country as well. Many studies have shown that, the greater the capital of funding the more companies can make their profit.
In conclusion, while everyone is looking funding companies and supporting the medical research. In my opinion, I think that for research the funding should be carried by private companies or individuals not by the government.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you favour private companies or individuals rather than government funding, and both body paragraphs relate to the benefits of private investment. However, the task asks you to consider who should carry out or fund research, and the response only develops the private-sector side; it does not explain why government funding is less suitable or compare the options. The reasons are also limited and sometimes unclear: company growth and tax revenue are mentioned, but the link between these outcomes and better medical research is not established. The examples remain general rather than showing a specific case. Develop a direct argument about research quality, public access, or commercial priorities, and support it with a relevant example. The required length is met; 10 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “Similarly” and “In conclusion” help identify its parts. However, the overall progression is limited: both body paragraphs repeat the idea that funding companies can grow and make profits, rather than advancing distinct reasons. Several sentences are joined into long chains with repeated “and” and “these companies,” which makes relationships between claims difficult to follow. The conclusion repeats the opening position without summarising the argument. Give each body paragraph a distinct central point, arrange its explanation and example in a clear sequence, and use pronouns or linking phrases only when their references are unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “medical research,” “financial support,” “annual budget,” “taxes” and “economy,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main position. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “companies,” “funding” and “grow.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “modren,” “finantial,” “develope,” “fundings” and “likly,” which reduce accuracy and can slow the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, including “certified funding company” and “falling down to crises.” Build a more precise set of expressions for research investment and its outcomes, and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer conditional or comparative structures, for example “if medical researches are funded…” and “the greater the capital of funding the more companies can make their profit.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction occur frequently. In “that person have,” the verb should agree with the singular subject; “companies who give fundings” also has an unclear structure. The opening “In my opinion, I think” is redundant, while the final sentence of the conclusion is not a complete, well-formed summary. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement and punctuation, especially in long sentences.
