Student answer (Band 5.5)

Private organizations are now play a significant role to sponsor medical research project while public funding or self funding research projects should play major role in this sector. In my thought, health sector research should be limited to government authorites for betterment of public health otherwise private organisation research might be biased for their own benifit.

In many developed and developing countries, a substential amount of research are conducted by public authorities which is funded by public fund because government is focus on cost effective medication and also preventive polices. Otherwise, private companies research are more focused on lucrative health care polices so they can earn more money from people and also they are trying to get immediet for any certian case which can cause faulty outfor for any medical research. For instance, in corona time almost every private organisation are trying to find a vaccine to cure corona but they were hurry to develop a vaccine so most of the vaccines which was developed in that time were not providing good output and the vaccines were highly priced.

On the other side, Government funded medical studies are keenly focused on developing a preventive method of any health crisis along with this they highly consider that their solution should be very reseonable for mass people. Moreover, they spend enough time to find best result for their research which will not cause any harm for people. For example, developing Polio vaccine is funded by government, so that researcher have more time to best possible result which can prevent almost hundred percent Polio from this wolrd.

Furthermore, individual funded research has many limitations among them they don't have enough budget, proper instruments, enough manpower and so on. As a result, sometime their study result are not effective comparetively private or public funded organisations.

I firmly beileve that, every medical research primerly conducted by governement fund to get maximum benifit.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall preference for government-funded research and provide relevant reasons, including public-health priorities, affordability, and the limited resources available to individuals. The examples of vaccine development and polio also help illustrate your position. However, the task asks whether research should be carried out by private companies, individuals, or government, and your discussion of private research is mostly critical; you do not explain when private companies might contribute positively or compare the three options in a balanced way. Some claims, such as that vaccines developed during the coronavirus pandemic did not provide good results, are broad and need more precise support. Develop the comparison and qualify claims to make the response more fully address the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs discussing public and private funding, a point about individual research, and a concluding opinion. Linking expressions such as “On the other side,” “Moreover,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is sometimes difficult to follow because the opening sentence combines several positions, and the discussion shifts between private and public research without a consistently clear comparison. Some links are mechanical or do not express the intended relationship clearly, as in “Otherwise” at the start of the second paragraph. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, particularly “they” in the discussion of researchers and organisations. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph directly to the central comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “public authorities,” “preventive method,” “lucrative,” and “limitations,” and the reader can generally identify your main points. However, the range is limited by repeated use of general terms such as “research,” “government,” and “people,” while several word choices or collocations are inaccurate and sometimes obscure meaning. For example, “get immediet for any certian case” and “faulty outfor” are difficult to interpret, and “public fund” is not a natural form in this context. Spelling errors such as “substential,” “benifit,” and “governement” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of topic-specific expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “so,” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction: “Private organizations are now play” should use one verb form, while “a substential amount of research are conducted” has a subject–verb agreement problem. In “private companies research are,” the possessive and verb structure are also faulty. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical boundaries, which makes the meaning harder to follow. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking that each subject has the correct verb and that articles and plurals are used consistently.
