Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In your opinion, do you think that research should be carried by private companies, individuals or government?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

ODAY, SO MANY MEDICAL INNOVATION PROJECTS ARE FUNDED AND SUPPORTED BY PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS. MEANWHILE, I WOULD AGREE WITH THE ABOVE STATEMENT TO A MAJOR EXTENT AND THE REASON TO SUPPORT IT WILL BE EXPLAINED IN THE ENSUING PARAGRAPHS, ALONG WITH EXAMPLES.

DISCUSSING THE REASONS TO SUPPORT THE AGREEMENT, THE MOST EVIDENT ONE IS MEDICAL RESEARCH NEEDS A LARGE AMOUNT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND MACHINERY RESOURCES. THESE SOURCES NEED HIGH BUDGET AND MODERN TECHNOLOGY. FOR EXAMPLE, MODERN LABORATORY, HIGH PROFILE AND WELL KNOWN EXPERIENCED SCIENTISTS AND DOCTORS TAKE HIGH CHARGE FOR RESEARCH. PRIVATE COMPANIES PROVIDE THESE TYPES OF ALL THE RESOURCES AND SCIENTIFIC EQUIPMENT. FOR INSTANCE, PRIVATE COMPANIES LIKE SERUM, SUN PHARMA, ALL PRIVATE COMPANIES FUNDED MEDICAL RESEARCH BECAUSE THEY HAVE ALL SUFFICIENT RESOURCES REGARDING NEW RESEARCH.

FURTHERMORE, ANOTHER SUPPORTING REASON FOR MY BELIEF IS DEVELOPING COUNTRIES FOCUS MORE ON THE FUNDAMENTAL NEEDS OF PUBLIC LIKE FOOD, BASIC MEDICAL FACILITIES, ACCOMMODATION, LAW AND ORDER. FINANCIALLY STRUGGLING COUNTRIES LIKE AFRICAN COUNTRIES, MIDDLE EAST NATIONS FOCUS MORE TO ESTABLISH THEIR STRONG INTERNAL FACILITIES.

ONE PROMINENT EXAMPLE IS INDIA SPENDS LOTS OF MONEY AND RESOURCES TO SECURE THEIR BORDERS AND DEAL WITH THE TERRORISM.

HOWEVER, MANY GOVERNMENTS PROVIDE THE FUND AND RESOURCES FOR MEDICAL RESEARCH. DEVELOPED NATIONS LIKE USA, RUSSIA AND EUROPEAN COUNTRIES FUNDED MANY MEDICAL RESEARCH PROJECTS IN THE HISTORY. EVEN THOUGH MANY GOVERNMENTS ALSO RUN SPECIAL FUNDING PROGRAMMES FOR RESEARCH. FOR EXAMPLE, BHARAT BIOTECH IS A GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATION WHO INVENTED THE COVID-19 VACCINE IN INDIA.

IN CONCLUSION, IN THIS CONTEMPORARY ERA, THERE IS EQUALLY POTENTIAL EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE ARGUMENT I HAVE PROVIDED, HENCE, IN MY OPINION MEDICAL RESEARCH SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY ALL THE ORGANIZATIONS—GOVERNMENT, INDIVIDUALS OR PRIVATE SECTOR.
