Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the contemporary era, there are many medical research has been conducted by the private companies. Many people have their own opinions on this topic, and it varies person to person. Before giving my own verdict, this essay will discuss both perspectives.
First and foremost, it is really necessary to conduct more and more medical research, whether it is either funded by private companies, individuals, or government. Because, there are some time comes where it is become very urgent to do a research on specific decease. Specially, if there is an epidemic virus starts to spread around the world.
For example, during the time of 'Covid 19' researchers from around the world were working together to find a solution to prevent this virus. Even scientists from third world countries like 'Bangladesh' also invented a vaccine called 'Bongo Vax'. Moreover, there are some deceases like 'E-colai', 'Ravies' took millions of life, especially in south east asia, and africa. That's why it is always should not be the concern, whether the funds of research are coming from the private comapnies, individuals, or government.
Shifting towards the second school of thoughts, there are some private organizations who are conducting misleading research to gain their benefits. For instance, there are some research conducted by the some vaping companies that e-cigarrets are less harmful for human bodies. Which is absolutely a mis guided research. Rather, in recent some recent research it if found that e-vaping causing more harm than the normal cigarretes . Therefore, it is very important to notice from which publication the medical research projects conducted.
To sum up, i would like to say that medical research projects can be conducted by private companies, individuals, or government if it adds values to our life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the role of private, individual, and government funding in medical research. However, the position is somewhat ambiguous. While you acknowledge the necessity of research regardless of the source, you also highlight the dangers of misleading private research. A clearer, more consistent stance would strengthen the essay. The ideas are relevant, but the development is somewhat superficial; for instance, the mention of 'Bongo Vax' is a good specific example, but the discussion on vaping companies could be more deeply integrated into a broader argument about regulation versus funding sources. To reach a higher band, ensure your central argument is clearly stated in the introduction and maintained throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use transition signals such as 'First and foremost' and 'Shifting towards the second school of thoughts'. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or unnatural. The referencing is generally clear, though the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical issues. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main perspectives. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that the logical progression between ideas is smoother, avoiding repetitive sentence structures.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'epidemic', 'misleading', and 'publication'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'decease' instead of 'disease', 'e-cigarrets', and 'comapnies'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning. To achieve a higher band, you should work on precision in word choice and ensure accurate spelling of key terms. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('there are many medical research has been conducted') and article usage. Some sentences are fragmented or awkwardly phrased, such as 'it is always should not be the concern'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. Increasing your control over complex sentence structures and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy will significantly improve your score.
