Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. Medical research plays a vita role in improving healthcare and developing new treatments for disease. I think private companies and individuals can make contributions for better facilities but government should play a leading role in conducting medical research.
To commence with, government works for the welfare of society and it their duty to protect the people from diseases. They are more likely to invest in medical laboratories and equipments that help in any dangerous threats. To clear it precisely, if any serious disease spread widely in people, even if developing a research is expensive, does not generate financial returns. For example, in Covid pandemic there is a lack of medical facilities, no. of died people increases but there are no available of oxygen and people faced many problems due to less medical research.
Private companies also plays a great role in medical research. They have advanced technology, more facilities, skilled researcher and easily discovered medicine rather than other pharmaceutical companies made drugs.
Individuals can contribute by donations and charitable foundations. As such, most individuals have not sufficient money for donation. Therefore, their role is supporting not leading.
In conclusion, government should co-operate with medical researchers in buying special equipment for people because it was their duty to protect the people from diseases. Youth is upcoming future if youngster is not protect the future comes in danger.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by discussing the roles of government, private companies, and individuals in medical research. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While you present a clear position that the government should lead, the supporting ideas are somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the example regarding the Covid pandemic is relevant but lacks sufficient detail to fully support your point. To improve, ensure you expand on your reasoning with more specific evidence and reach the required word count to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are abrupt. The final sentence is somewhat disconnected from the main argument of the paragraph. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother progression of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'welfare', 'pharmaceutical', and 'charitable foundations'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'vita role' (should be 'vital') and 'no available of oxygen'. Some vocabulary is repetitive, and there is a lack of more sophisticated, academic collocations. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise terminology and ensure correct word forms are used consistently. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary will also help convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Private companies also plays', 'no. of died people increases') and article usage errors. Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly fragmented or lack clarity. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with grammatical precision.
