Student answer (Band 6.5)

It is often seen nowadays that, the medical research projects are funded by private companies rather than individuals or government. I completely think it is beneficial for a medical research projects to fund by private companies so the research can be going on and finish according to in there time period.

One major advantage of this this type of private funding is that you will never have to wait or worry for any kind of financial and facilities to carry your research, the private companies makes sure you don't have to delay your research based on some funding or accessories problem.

On the other hand if we talk about government there is always a uncertainty because if during in your research there are some hurdles happen and know you need to have some some facilities of accessories you need to carry your research work it will take time and when the government approves your new funds and and if you are not getting enough of your research items the research will go late and it will consumes so much time for every individual, and also there is so much instability nowadays and iif the government somehow changes the new government most of the times cancel all the project, which was started by the other government.

In conclusion, the private companies are more reliable and they believe on finishing the work on time compared to as an individual or by government. Individually you will not get everything to need to carry your research, and same government maybe there will be higher chance of delaying the fund and the research will not complete on time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of private funding. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you mention the reliability of private companies and the instability of government funding, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' of these points, perhaps by discussing the impact on medical innovation or the ethical implications of profit-driven research. The conclusion restates the position but does not synthesize the arguments effectively. The response is sufficient to address the task, but the supporting evidence remains superficial.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward sentence structures. For instance, the repetition of 'some' and 'and' creates a mechanical feel. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where 'this this type' is used. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence builds logically on the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple, repetitive words like 'things', 'items', and 'facilities'. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'finish according to in there time period' and 'the research will go late'. To improve, you should focus on using more academic collocations and precise terminology related to research and funding. While your meaning is clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors limit your score in this criterion.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the private companies makes sure'), incorrect preposition usage, and run-on sentences. There are also several instances of redundant words, such as 'and and' or 'some some'. While your meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and eliminating redundant words will help improve your accuracy.
