Student answer (Band 6.0)
Currently, most of the research in medical field projects are funded by some companies that are privately established. However, while I believe that the govenment should provide proper equipment and proper environment by funding medical research centers rather than the private companies.
With regards to the government, all the practical labs should be facilitate by them, every new medicine or experiment should be entertained in the supervision of them. I believe that every medicine which is made by the researchers will held with positivity and don't make any dangerous affect to the human beings, animals or plants. They make some organizations that supervised multiple different government and private centers to ensure that there is no negative activities happening in the centers.
On the other hand, the private companies or individuals fund any medical research centre to make any harmful medicine or do any irrelevent experiment that is beneficial for them however not good for the life of human beings, animals or plants. In the current era, there are multiple institutes of medical that are funded by some individuals or some private companies to make something that boost their business but are injurious to health. However, some government organizations have responsibilities to make sure that every medicine or experiment should first discuss with the govenment and then seek permission to start working on that experiment or medicine.
To conclude, although it is responsibility of the government to ensure that all the medical research laboratories are supervised by them and all the projects are developed after seeking permission from them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear preference for government-funded medical research. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that private companies might prioritize profit over safety, the arguments lack depth and specific examples. The essay is repetitive, particularly in the conclusion, which does not fully summarize the main points but rather restates the introduction. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a distinct, well-supported argument rather than repeating the same general concerns about safety and supervision. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence needs more substance to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'However' and 'On the other hand'. Some transitions feel forced, and the logical flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by grammatical errors. The conclusion is particularly weak, as it is a sentence fragment that fails to provide a sense of closure to the argument. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', 'make', and 'things'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'entertained in the supervision' (should be 'conducted under the supervision') and 'irrelevent experiment'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Try to incorporate more academic collocations related to research, ethics, and public policy to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede readability. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('every medicine... will held', 'every medicine or experiment should first discuss'), incorrect verb forms ('will held'), and spelling errors ('govenment', 'irrelevent'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the passive voice, which is essential for this type of essay. Proofreading for common slips like 'affect' versus 'effect' and ensuring complete sentence structures will help you achieve a higher score.
