Student answer (Band 6.0)

I partially agree with this as the many medical research projects are funded by private companies.

In my opinion i believe that the government should hold half of the share in the funding of research projects as the these researches help the government in various aspects like healthcare sector, innovations, manufacturing, Education, Rocket launching and many more. What i covey is the government will use the the project implementation to real-time and make use of these different project in daily life so that the man power and be reduced, also the productivity of the work increase immensely with in no time. Also by highlighting the funding given by the private companies, which is also a good sign where these companies provide the best requirements and top notch facilities which are essentials for the research team to work on, which can boost their potential and also the work progress can be visible.

India stands-out becoming an inspiration for several countries by setting a record of the only country 104 satellite's to space at on launch. It also holds a record of an advanced mission named "Mangal Yarn", this is the mission where the Indian flag achieved its place at Mars from Earth. This has made India the only country in the universe to send the most number of rockets to the space in 2019.

To conclude, there should be a partnership between the countries government and the business tycoons or the business companies where they can fund equally in different aspects by providing support as well as the essential equipment for the team to research and create wonders.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the roles of government and private companies in medical research. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally drifts into irrelevant territory. For instance, the discussion on rocket launches and satellite records in India is not directly related to medical research, which weakens the overall argument. While a position is stated, the reasoning behind why the government should hold 'half the share' is not fully explored or supported with specific medical research examples. To improve, ensure all examples directly support the central argument regarding medical research funding.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is sometimes disjointed. The transition between the role of the government and the specific examples of Indian space missions is abrupt and lacks a clear cohesive link to the main topic. While some cohesive devices are used, such as 'Also' and 'To conclude', they are used in a somewhat mechanical way. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between 'man power' and 'productivity' is not fully articulated, making the flow of the argument difficult to follow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'What i covey is' and 'the project implementation to real-time'. Additionally, there are minor errors in word choice, such as '104 satellite's' (incorrect pluralisation) and 'Mangal Yarn' (likely referring to Mangalyaan). While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the overall range is limited, and the errors occasionally distract from the message.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include incorrect article usage ('the the project'), subject-verb agreement ('productivity of the work increase'), and punctuation errors. The sentence structure is often repetitive, and some sentences are poorly constructed, which hinders clarity. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
