Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, reaching only 122 words. This failure to meet the minimum length requirement severely limits the development of ideas. While you state a position in the introduction, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence in the second paragraph. Consequently, the task is not fully addressed, and the arguments are underdeveloped and lack the necessary depth and supporting examples required for a higher band score. To improve, you must ensure you complete the essay and provide sufficient detail to meet the length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using transition words like 'Consequently' and 'Secondly'. However, because the text is incomplete and ends abruptly, the overall progression of ideas is severely disrupted. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a conclusion and the unfinished nature of the final paragraph make the structure incoherent. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence, leading to a logical conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'campaign by the government' (instead of 'funded by') and 'overcome from the dieses' (spelling error: 'disease'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic in depth. To improve, try to use more precise academic terminology related to research and public policy, and pay closer attention to spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'the medical research is essential part' (missing article), 'virus both were research' (incorrect verb form), and 'if these kind of projects carries' (subject-verb agreement error). The range of sentence structures is limited, and the errors are persistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and ensuring verb tenses are used consistently throughout your writing.
