Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent time we have seen that medical research projects are funded and carried out by private companies where there is not much difference in the outcomes compared to government funded project. The advantages and disadvantages are discussed in the below essay.
Now a days private companies are seen t be more successful than government companies although there budgets are low when compared to the government companies. The big reason for this is less amount of corruption. Now a days we see 95% of government funded projects involved in corruption. This is causing decrease of trust on government companies. This also cause major failures which the further result to effect the public directly or indirectly.
On the other hand he private companies have low budgets and small teams with less team members to work. This may take much longer time for a company to come with an outcome. Although these companies get more accurate outcomes, consume more time. The reason is these private companies much capacity then government companies. Where government companies have larger budgets and can ire more members to work.
Overall in my opinion if the private companies are able to get more accurate results the government companies they should be given chance. Government should also fund these companies to increase there capacity, reduce there time consumption and get more accurate results. The government should also reduce corruption and focus on getting more accurate results.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While you present a clear position, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the claim that 95% of government projects involve corruption is an unsupported generalization that weakens the academic tone. To improve, you should provide more specific, logical reasons for your preference and ensure that your arguments are fully expanded to meet the length requirement. The conclusion is present but could be more robust in summarizing your main points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Now a days' is used twice in the same paragraph). The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the logical progression could be smoother. For example, the shift from discussing corruption to discussing budget constraints lacks a clear linking phrase. Improving the variety of transition words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision expected for a higher band score. There is frequent repetition of words like 'companies', 'government', and 'accurate'. You also make several word-choice errors, such as 'government companies' (which should be 'government agencies' or 'public institutions') and 'further result to effect' (which is grammatically awkward). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the English language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'although there budgets are low'), incorrect word forms (e.g., 'ire' instead of 'hire'), and punctuation errors. The sentence 'This also cause major failures which the further result to effect the public' is particularly problematic in terms of syntax. To reach a higher band, focus on proofreading for basic errors and attempt to use a wider variety of complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
