Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is undeniable truth that technology and science have changed the world. Research in health are increasing significantly over the time. Some are of the funded by authorities of countries although some research are sponsered by private clinical research organisations and some by just own expenses. To a large extent, I believe that clinical trials are fully taken by governments rather than individuals and private funds. This essay will justify my agreement side and provide reasons for that selecting this side.

In the beginning, clinical research is very expensive because it requires a lot of funds, infrastructure, subject and equipment. Single person can make this set up by alone and sometimes private funds are not sufficient for conducting research. For illustrate, Havard university has conducted many research and that are fully taken under the ministry because it is best way to maintain quality and reduce the misuse of any device and tablet. Moreover, research requires long time investment for one research so that it will reduce tha expansion of business and clinical research organisations at that time money is allocated by governing bodies that is best option. Some people have sufficient knowledge about research but can not execute because of lack of money and also infrastructure that owing to sometimes hidden talent of country and innovate the new medicine and devices.

Paradoxically, government carry long time for giving permission to conduct research work and also requires a lot of paper work. This leads to obstacles of clinical trials and something new innovations. In addition, private funds provide flexibility of conducting research and also reduce paper work related time.

By agglomerating aforementioned facts, it can be concluded that clinical trials should be conducted by states rather than private companies and person. This can be easy and very effective process to maintain quality. I opine that clinical research should sponsor by government.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of government-funded research. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you provide reasons such as cost and quality control, the explanation is often hindered by unclear phrasing, such as the mention of Harvard University, which is not clearly linked to the argument about government funding. The counter-argument regarding bureaucracy is introduced but not fully integrated into the overall stance, leading to a slight lack of balance in the discussion. To improve, ensure that each supporting point is clearly explained with logical examples that directly reinforce your main argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In addition' to link sentences. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as 'By agglomerating aforementioned facts,' which sounds unnatural. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed at times. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices more naturally and ensure that the relationship between sentences is always explicit and smooth.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'agreement side' instead of 'position' or 'sponsered' (spelling error). Phrases like 'taken by governments' are imprecise in this context. You attempt to use some academic vocabulary, but the collocation is often off, which limits the clarity of your expression. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to research and academic writing, and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Research in health are'), article usage ('the ministry'), and awkward phrasing ('Single person can make this set up by alone'). While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to cause some distraction. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, and try to construct more complex sentences with greater accuracy.
