Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this fast-growing world, life is changing rapidly with advancement in various fields. A similar trend of advancement is seen in the sector of medical research projects. In past years, the government used to fund these research programs, but nowadays private companies are funding the research programs. In upcoming paragraphs, I will discuss this view and I will give my opinion.
Medical research projects are very crucial for the development of society. However, when the projects are funded by private companies, it has a lot of benefits. Firstly, it will result in more rapid scientific development as the private companies will fund this type of project. More people can be employed from various places in this centre. Also, the companies will get a great experience. In addition, private companies have a huge amount of funds, so it helps to reduce the burden on the government. However, it can be more efficient to produce various good researches as the private companies have more good equipment and knowledge about how to run programmes easily.
In my opinion, if the country needs actual development in this field, then working with the integration of everyone could be necessary. The government will also encourage this work. It can encourage the scientist also. Nevertheless, the government also cannot get successful in this initiative until the work has been done individually of the country. As to make big changes, people have to take small steps. In addition, private companies can provide good funding, technology, and equipment. So, if the work is done with integration of everyone, it will be more beneficial.
To encapsulate, private companies can be more efficient and can result in more scientific development. But to make big changes, if everyone will work on a base level, from government, private companies as well as individuals, it will result in rapid success.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the roles of private companies, the government, and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument that private companies have 'more good equipment' is repetitive and lacks specific examples or depth. While a position is stated, the suggestion that 'everyone' should work together is a bit vague and lacks a clear explanation of how this collaboration would function in practice. To reach a higher band, you should provide more concrete examples of how these entities can collaborate effectively in medical research, rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'In addition', and 'To encapsulate' to link ideas. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the connection between the government's role and individual contributions in the third paragraph is slightly confusing. The referencing is generally clear, but the flow could be improved by using more sophisticated transition phrases to connect the benefits of private funding with the need for a collaborative approach.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on simple descriptors like 'good', 'huge', and 'easy'. Phrases such as 'more good equipment' and 'actual development' are somewhat imprecise. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific collocations related to medical research and funding, such as 'financial backing', 'technological infrastructure', or 'collaborative research initiatives'. The current range is sufficient to communicate your points, but it does not demonstrate the flexibility or sophistication expected at a band 7 or above.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies. For instance, 'the work has been done individually of the country' is awkward and grammatically incorrect. There are also issues with article usage and prepositions, such as 'in this centre' and 'the integration of everyone'. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on refining your sentence structure and ensuring subject-verb agreement to improve your accuracy.
