Student answer (Band 5.0)

The topic is about the many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In my opinion, the private companies that funded the medical research projects have the full rights on the projects. They can use the projects as they want also change the projects as they need. The whole projects should be carried out by private companies. First of all, they have the rights of the projects. Secondly, they know the projects and research very well. On the other hand, the individuals and government are not know anything about the projects.

If we give the projects individuals and government then it cause very serious problems and diseases. The medical research project is funded by private companies because they know about the projects very well. We understands it very well because the information of research projects is know by companies and the private companies do not share their information to others.

For example, we are the CEO of the private company and you are funded the medical research project for Human benefits. But the information is very important and critical that cause very big problems. The information only use by private company because they know about formulas and data of the projects.

The conculsion all of this is the projects are carried out by only private companies and the research are not interfer by individuals and government. Because They do not about the projects data and private companies are funded the projects and the projects are carried out by private companies only.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. You argue that private companies should hold exclusive rights to research, but the reasoning is underdeveloped. For instance, claiming that individuals and the government 'are not know anything about the projects' is an overgeneralization that lacks logical support. The argument relies on circular reasoning—stating that companies should own research because they know the research—rather than exploring the broader implications of funding, such as public health benefits or ethical considerations. To improve, you need to provide more nuanced arguments and concrete examples that go beyond hypothetical scenarios.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'First of all' and 'On the other hand', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or repetitive. For example, the phrase 'the projects are carried out by private companies' is repeated multiple times in the conclusion, which hinders the flow. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'If we give the projects individuals and government then it cause very serious problems', where the connection between the subjects and the consequences is not logically established.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. You frequently reuse words like 'projects', 'companies', and 'research' without employing synonyms or more precise terminology. There are also frequent errors in word formation and collocation, such as 'are not know anything' instead of 'do not know anything' and 'the research are not interfer by' instead of 'the research should not be interfered with by'. To reach a higher band, you should work on expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and ensure correct word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the information... is know by companies'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'The conculsion all of this is the projects are carried out by only private companies'. Punctuation is generally functional, but the lack of grammatical control throughout the text makes it difficult for the reader to follow your arguments smoothly. Focusing on basic sentence construction and verb consistency is essential.
