Student answer (Band 6.0)

Medical researches had a huge role in providing knowledge thus it is considered as an integral part of the process development. Although, nowadays many medical research projects are funded on private companies whereas, it should be carried out by government companies . This essay intends to analyze both the perspectives in the forthcoming paragraphs with relevant examples. However, my inclination falls incline with the later view.

On the one hand, people advocates that, medical researches projects should be funded by private companies as they think it would be easy for private companies as they are well equipped and can afford the expenses of the research projects whereas, the government companies have to prepare the whole budget plan and then they can apply for the budget which is a very hard process therefore they feel that private companies can fund for the same.

On the other hand, a few of mankind suggests the way out. They believe that medical research projects should be funded by the government itself. However, these researches are helping in enhancing the knowledge of the nation as a whole and thus not a particular person or the particular company should pay for the same. In addition, if a private company would fund that it may result ibn resource constrain which may impact the result of the research.

In my opinion, despite the fact that there are numerous areas about which researches must be done it should always be funded by the government as it is the responsibility of the government of the particular country to conduct such researches, furthermore, it should be negotiable if the government resources are limited.

In conclusion, in the wake of above, it can be clearly and logically concluded that, although researches are funded by private companies nowadays, but it should be done by the government as well but if the government's budget is low then private companies must aid then.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses the prompt by discussing both private and government funding, though the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. You state your position clearly in the introduction and conclusion, which is a strength. However, the arguments lack depth; for instance, the point about government budget planning is repetitive and lacks specific examples or evidence to support the claim. The discussion of 'resource constraints' is a good point but is not fully explored. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a concrete example or a more detailed explanation of the consequences of your proposed funding model to better support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'in the wake of above'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences are run-on or lack necessary punctuation, which disrupts the flow. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence connects smoothly to the next will help elevate your score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'medical researches' (research is an uncountable noun), 'government companies' (which is not the standard term for public institutions), and 'mankind suggests the way out'. You also have some minor spelling or typographical errors like 'ibn' instead of 'in'. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to academic topics and avoid using informal or imprecise phrasing. Expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people advocates'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence construction. For example, 'my inclination falls incline with the later view' is grammatically incorrect. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency. Increasing your control over complex structures will help you achieve a higher band.
