Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you attempt to address the prompt by discussing both private and government funding, the arguments are repetitive and lack depth. The position is somewhat clear, but the lack of specific examples or detailed reasoning prevents a more thorough exploration of the topic. The essay ends abruptly, suggesting an incomplete response. To improve, ensure you fully develop each paragraph with clear supporting evidence and reach the required word count to allow for a more comprehensive discussion of the issues.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'when' and 'so' to link ideas. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logical flow of your argument. Transitions between the two main viewpoints are basic ('In one hand', 'On the second hand'). To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that connects logically to the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas clearly. You frequently use basic terms like 'project', 'companies', and 'money' without variation. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'handled yo the private people' and 'the government afford its fund'. These errors occasionally make the meaning less precise. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to economics and healthcare, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'companies invest the money', 'the people faces'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain structural errors, such as 'In the essay we discussed about the research project of many medical that are funded by the private companies'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which limits your ability to demonstrate grammatical control. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralisation.
