Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years the number of medical research projects funded by private companies have increased. Regardless of it there are no major advantage or cons according to the following statment. In my opinion the reserach carryied out by private companies or individuals or governments have no gigantic impact on the projects.
Firstly, medical reserach carried funded by private companies spent more funds involved in the reserch will result in betterment of the medical products and better treatment of people. As medical playss a vital role in people day to day life if involed with diseases or not good health conditions. It will foster people's health conditions. Private companies might create company for profit bases and still it will provide best medical product or treatment.Whereas individuals perspective are not clear it might be for profit or growth of the company or might be for charity purposes.
Compared to government as it is a public entity it works mainly for public requirements or needs. with benefits like less pricing range. And especially the reserch would involve best members and reserchers for it as it is controlled by the government. And the medical treatment for backward individuals and ones who are not able to pay for the treatment could get a free check up or less fees to be payed by them.
In conclusion, reserach carried out by government could be more beneficial to individuals who cannot afford the treatment or the product. While the individuals can also give an advantage if they opt it for charity purposes. Follwed by private companies which are not entirely based on profit but could be beneficial.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether medical research should be funded by private companies, individuals, or governments. However, the development of ideas is heavily constrained by unclear phrasing and contradictory statements. In the introduction, the writer claims that 'there are no major advantage or cons' and that research methods have 'no gigantic impact,' which contradicts the subsequent body paragraphs that discuss specific advantages like pricing and product betterment. While the response touches upon all three entities (private companies, individuals, and governments), the arguments remain underdeveloped, repetitive, and lack clear analytical depth. The position is somewhat confused by the contradictory statements in the opening and closing sections. Consequently, this performance aligns closely with the Band 5 descriptors, where the task is addressed only partially and ideas are limited or under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is divided into four paragraphs, showing a basic attempt at structural organisation with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is frequently disrupted by poor cohesive ties and disjointed sentences. For example, transitional phrases like 'Regardless of it' and 'Follwed by private companies which are not entirely based on profit' are used awkwardly and obscure the logical relationship between ideas. Referencing is also problematic, with ambiguous pronouns such as 'It will foster people's health conditions' where the antecedent is unclear. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is often faulty or mechanical. This demonstrates the characteristics of Band 5, featuring some basic organisation but lacking clear overall progression and making inadequate or inaccurate use of cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student employs a limited, repetitive vocabulary that is barely adequate for the task. Throughout the response, there is an over-reliance on basic words and frequent lexical errors, such as 'reserach' (misspelled consistently), 'carryied', 'playss', and 'pricing range'. Phrasing is frequently unnatural and imprecise, as seen in expressions like 'spent more funds involved in the reserch will result in betterment' and 'backward individuals'. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are largely unsuccessful due to severe spelling and word-choice inaccuracies that occasionally impede comprehension. While the meaning can generally be inferred with effort, the lexical range and control fall squarely within Band 5, marked by noticeable errors and a restricted range of vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The grammatical structure of the essay is heavily flawed, displaying a very limited range of structures and persistent errors. The student attempts complex sentences, but these attempts are almost uniformly faulty, resulting in fragmented or run-on structures such as 'As medical playss a vital role in people day to day life if involed with diseases or not good health conditions.' Subject-verb agreement errors are common (e.g., 'research... have increased', 'companies might create company'), and punctuation is frequently neglected. Frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure cause significant difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning. These characteristics reflect the Band 5 descriptor, where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty and frequent errors cause reader strain.
