Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent days, many medical research projects are funded by privates companies. In my opinion that research should be carried by government, because people doesn't have trust on other authorities.

First of all, Many medical research projects have been running in current year in all around the world. Some of them are personal and some are funded by private as well as some by government. After compeletion of all these research each research projects will have different view or outcomes. But the most noticing part is those private or well funded research are seems biased on somewhere. On the other hand government and personal research projects likely have few similarity between them such as they are talking factual thing and no more unnecessary talk, whereas personal research project might have lack of vision and lack of sufficient information. Therefore to make happen well and trustworthy research projects, the government would be best.

Secondly, the medical research projects done by government might be better than other authorities. Because, government can access countries large amount of data and material related to topic this can have more accuracy than other. For example, one country have access of all government data and information they can easily extract and study. Therefore governemnt medical research project are more valuable then other research projects.

To conclude, the medical research research projects are very sensitive topic to explore if wrong information have studied it might cause many problem. Therefore, I think government is only the best and trustworthy for people and it has greater power of data it can make better than other authorities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding who should fund and carry out medical research, taking a clear position that the government should be responsible. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument relies heavily on the general notion that private companies are biased while the government has access to large amounts of data, without providing concrete or fully developed examples. The discussion touches upon the main parts of the task, but the arguments remain underdeveloped, and the reasoning is occasionally simplistic, corresponding to a Band 5 performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, which provides a basic framework. However, the overall progression is impeded by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive devices. Transitions such as 'First of all' and 'Secondly' are used, but sentences within paragraphs often lack smooth logical links. For example, sentences like 'After compeletion of all these research each research projects will have different view or outcomes' create a disjointed flow. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as 'this can have more accuracy than other', leading to a Band 5 rating.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently reusing terms like 'research projects', 'government', and 'authorities'. There are noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'privates companies', 'compeletion', and 'governemnt'. The lexical range is limited to minimally adequate for the task, and collocations are often unnatural, such as 'talking factual thing' and 'sensitive topic to explore if wrong information have studied'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('people doesn't have trust'), missing articles ('one country have access of all government data'), and incorrect verb tenses/voices ('if wrong information have studied it might cause many problem'). These frequent errors and faulty complex structures hinder readability and restrict the score to Band 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the overall adequacy of communication.
