IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Nowadays, many medical research projects are funded by private companies. In your opinion, do you think that research should be carried by private companies, individuals or government?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent decades, numerous individuals think that several medical projects are funded by private companies. I believe that government do not pay-attention and they cannot provide facilities rather than private companies, since they are have enough funds for projects.
On the one hand, the government is not capable to provide good resources for research projects. This is because they do not have sufficient funds for investment in innovations, even a large amount of people say that authorities are not providing good facilities in labs, projects and resources. While many researchers already quit their work, since they think that their salary was very less. A clear example of this is that Indian government are managing their research labs and projects, but their professionals are not satisfied with their work because the government are not fulfil their expectations such as enough paid and they do not have good equipment.
On the other hand, individuals are argued that research should carried by private companies. The main reason for this is that private authorities are have good funds for the investment and they can operate better country research programs. They can provide good labs with advanced technology, which helps scientist for new discovery. For instance, American research system run by private companies such as NASA, Space x. Consequently, there labs are well-maintained and offers good high-paid jobs.
In conclusion, government do not pay-attention on research companies and they cannot afford it, which cause a lack of researchers in their country. Conversely, private companies can manage research projects because they are have good investment. I firmly believe that private agencies have good resources and sufficient funds.

Logical connectors are attempted, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', helping to guide the reader through the text. However, progression is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing and weak cohesive ties. Referencing is occasionally ambiguous, such as in the sentence 'Consequently, there labs are well-maintained', where 'there' is misused for 'their'. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs often feels mechanical and slightly disjointed, reflecting a solid Band 5 performance.
