Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays many researches are counducted by private companies, i partly agree with this statement because i believe that it should be counducted by both private companies and government should also be construct the medical research centers, although medical researches also plays a vital role in out community.
On the one hand private companies should helps the medical centers for counducting their research because it helps the economy to grew in a better environment. For example if we counduct the research on any specific disease which is harmfull for the society funding from the private companies will be very useful. On the other hand the equipments and instruments used in research will be available only in the private companies.
Government should also be take part in medical research because government influence is very essential for counducting a medical research.Government should make paths and steps for counducting the research, government should also encourage the educated young generation to take part in the research.
From my perspective it is very important for society and environment if both the private companies and government take part in medical researches It is very essential for young people too to increase there knowledge and skill which increase their interpesonal skills too.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt partially by discussing both private companies and the government in relation to funding medical research. However, the student's position is somewhat unclear and simplistic at the beginning, stating 'i partly agree with this statement' despite the prompt asking an open-ended opinion question rather than a statement to agree with. Furthermore, the text is incomplete, trailing off abruptly with 'In conclusion,', and fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, stopping at only 204 words. Ideas regarding why companies or the government should fund research are underdeveloped and repetitive. Based on these shortcomings, the response aligns best with a Band 4.5 descriptor profile, rounded to 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with basic paragraphing, though the concluding paragraph is incomplete. Cohesive devices are minimal and sometimes repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' which are applied awkwardly or incorrectly. For instance, the second occurrence of 'On the other hand' does not present a contrasting point to the first, but rather introduces a separate point about equipment. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression between ideas is limited by the brevity and abrupt ending of the text. Overall, these cohesion and paragraphing flaws place the response within the Band 5.0 category.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student demonstrates a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, utilizing basic terms like 'medical research', 'private companies', and 'government'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'counducted' instead of 'conducted', 'harmfull', 'equipments' (uncountable), and 'grew' instead of 'grow'. Phrases like 'increase there knowledge' demonstrate issues with homophones and collocation. While communication is not entirely obscured, these repeated lexical and spelling errors impede readability and restrict the score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional, often faulty, attempts at complex forms. There are frequent punctuation and capitalization errors, such as starting sentences with lowercase 'i'. Run-on sentences and comma splices are also present, for example: '...government influence is very essential for counducting a medical research.Government should make paths...'. Grammatical errors frequently cause difficulty for the reader and demonstrate weak control over basic sentence construction, justifying a Band 5.0.
